This is one of the many reasons...
For not having linked to apps....
Even with all kind of security features on phone... Sure someone can break & gain access to it...

also to note, if ur phone is stolen, sms can still easily be seen even if locked. if not locked like our friend up there, even more.

I didn't enable lock screen too. Luckily I have a habit of no banking apps, didn't login banking site from mobile site and always clear my SMS. So the only thing that got me worried that time was my email accounts and several apps that got my credit card linked (like airbnb). So they first need to guess which bank I have account with....and my email have tons of email from banks doh.gif

Having said that, I have no choice but installed OCBC apps now because it requires the one token. For this I make sure to use it only for the token without the need to login.

There was a time when CIMB website is down and the only way to make a transfer was through its app. I installed the app and made the transfer. Then I found out that once I enable the app, I will not get OTP anymore. So I contacted CS to reverse back, disable app and enable OTP.

nevertheless, i highly suggest u to enable screen lock for security purposes. most smartphones nowadays have biometric security and it would just be as easy as swiping ur phone or pressing the on button.

There is a story behind it. I did enable my phone. I was travelling overseas and remembered showing my friend just few days before, okay here is my unlock swipe pattern just in case something happened to me. But I later disabled it because it might be too complicated. Few days later, the phone got pickpocketed laugh.gif doh.gif

so what have they done about it? Yes app is not safe, and TAC is actually secure enough because there is only 3 tries and only valid for very short time. I don't understand why must use smartphone app

yup I would go that way, for now <RM3k still can use TAC on Maybank, who knows it will change again
Hong Leong seems a good choice for me, never got any problem, they never push the app

Maybank is the largest bank, they push app base due to sms cost?

just delaying the inevitable. better get another account during this transition period. or not later every1 rushing to open new account when the dateline comes.

Hi, i just created a new HSBC account and wanted to transfer some money from CIMB account. However, this thing popped up when i tried to use instant transfer. It works with IBG. Is it some setting issue that i need to change?

Try to call HSBC hotline to enquire on this issue.
