i think it is much more better....only few hundreds xtra....
i m abit regret after i bought my ace....
i got a galaxy s i9000 for my wife n it is much more smoother n i can install custom rom like MIUI on it n its looks great tat ace dun hav it....

actualy xtra 400 is ok if u buy through installment at senheng or any other shop tat gives u installment plan...not much different....
anyway bought is bought,nothing canb change unless v trade in ours n lost few hundreds then spend another few hundreds to get a new different model....haha...

Does this phone's camera a decent one? I know it can't be compared with SGS2 but any advise?
Thinking to get this phone in near future.

just done upgrading from DXKC1 (2.2.1) to DXKP9 (2.3.4)...i thought the official upgrade would be to 2.3.3, but anyway, quite a pleasant surprise...hahaha...

anyway, Gingerbread review time...so far, the UI is much better, however, not quite pleased with the performance...yes, it does have better video capture features, and better app management, but RAM usage are quite huge (maybe cos i install lots of apps, 100++) and it also feels laggy at times...never had this problem with Froyo...had no chance to test the wifi SOD problem, but so far, no SOD yet...

so now, trying to flash ClockWorkMode Recovery 4.0.0.9 and backup the current firmware...but somehow, i missed having Darktremor A2SD...haven't figure out how to enable it in stock Gingerbread, except to flash a new kernel...

actually i m anti iphone also,but 1 thing i have to agree tat it is really a very success product!!!
from design,usage,perfomance,apps,accessories n etc.....
till today ppl still compare iphone 4 with sgs2 or other android new model....n iphone 4 oredi launched more than a year++!!!
omost 90% of my fren used iphone n when i tried to use it,its really very very smooth tat sgs cant make it...(hav not try sgs2 yet)
n de iphone apps n display oso very nice....

i think jailbreak for iphone its totally not a problem at all.....
u can jailbreak ur own but if u duno or not dare to do it u can jus spend very little money to get sum expert to help u....
anyway i think i wil keep supporting ANDROID!!!but i wil try to get an iphone if possible(if i hav xtra money)...haha....

just updated my phone to the official GB... here's what i notice:
- User interface is much cleaner and nicer.

- internal memory space has been VERY well managed (compared when i first got froyo with this phone.) froyo i only have 30MB for space for my apps but now i have a whopping 160MB.

- SOD. I can't make a comparison for SOD because previously i didn't encounter any. sorry.

- keyboard is different as well. so far it's only aesthetic.

- in terms of phone speed, i realized it's much smoother but when i open my picture gallery, it takes much longer to load.

- there's a new icon 'Download'. i think it's to track your download activities.

- battery management is still under examination. seems ok so far. will keep updated.

When i first got my phone, i only had 30mb left for any additional apps. 120mb was used for existing apps in the phone. Now after changing to gb, the existing apps installed only takes up 26mb. Ace max storage only until 162mb... I could be wrong.

As for games, i have no tried hvga games yet.

I got the same issue as you only about 25MB left with only about 20 apps installed. I discovered that the log files consumed the internal memory. After deleting all the log files I got 120MB of internal memory and still on froyo. If you are wondering what happen to your internal memory, go to /data/log directory to check whether log files are taking up the memory. Your need root explorer or similar to access your internal memory.

it took me roughly 20-30 mins...make sure u backup ur stuff.
and unrooted. use sms backup app to backup ur sms.

did u root ur phone? i have not. when i got my stock froyo, it's already 120mb...

hmm..mine didn't auto move to sd card nor able to move it to sd card.Maybe cause i haven't root etc?

sorry for confusing you MjMax15. my last comment on the router thingy was more for the other ppl who has issues with the wifi connection disconnecting with their phones. Nothing to do with your USB issue.

back to your USB issue. do you have another spare USB cable you can try using? I recall i had a similiar issue with a motorola phone before ( used a sony cable and couldn't charge).

else.. i have the Samsung PC Studio software as well. It might contain USB drivers if you're keen to try out i can upload it.

for camera, i agree the stock camera app is not so good. I use camera 360 instead. My avatar is a sample from it with lomo effect.

Just complete upgrade to S5830DXKPB. But still notice the zoom in no support text auto reflow. Is this text auto reformat feature already taken out from GB?

and where is the 'use packet data' and 'data roaming'?

ditto~ I updated to GB and noticed
1. screen took 2 second to light up when in standby mode
2. can't connect to modem even its able to scan it. restarting modem solve the issue (experienced once after updating to gb)
3. don't know if this is significantly important or not, but i do think the vibrating while tying is... weirder after updating =P
4. font appear to be... "crisper"

5. relatively smoother actually after updating to gb
6. dolphin hd is working for me though

I just upgraded to official 2.3.4 thru service ctr.....so far games are smoother and everything seems smoother....good..

if i clear ram now i used 140mb ram...but i install many things..jus nw ram used up to 200mb
