Hi
I found that ipmart.com has the best price on original Samsung Galaxy S PLus. Check out their facebook site. RM1268.12 with 1 year Samsung Malaysia Electronics warranty. Some more . . . can use Amex card! This means if you got the Maybank Duo Amex, use it on a weekend and you can get 5% cashback plus 2.5% treatpoints*. This works out to a further RM 81 discount. So net price if you got the Amex is = RM1187! The main issue i had was whether ipmart.com was a legit company. But from lots of searching on the net, I came to conclusion they are . . . so gonna put my money where my mouth is this weekend! * Check out the other Lowyat forum on the Maybank Duo Amex card to see what i'm talking about . . . |

I know why SPlus has such low dev support - it's very different from the original SGS (just like SGSL). But at least SGSL has a head start, so it has slightly bigger community. http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Samsung_G...pport_Breakdown This device is essentially not even a Galaxy S phone. It uses a Qualcomm Scorpion processor and Adreno 205 GPU. It has far more in common with the HTC Desire HD than the Galaxy S line. |

QUOTE(Dannyl @ Sep 30 2011, 01:24 AM) Errr... I only go to ipmart.com to get 'localized' versions of paid apps, if you know what I mean. Never bought anything from them before, sorry. Actually the savings you get ain't huge, so why not buy from Garage Sales for RM12xx which comes with 2 years SME warranty? Yup, I know the headline price is close to Garage Sales price, but very unusually ipmart.com accept Amex cards without charge. With the 5% cashback + 2.5% points i get on Maybank Amex, it works out to another RM81 discount, giving net price of about RM 1187. Another issue with the Garage Sale offer of 2years SME warranty is - i checked Samsung website, they said they only offer 1 year warranty for mobile phones. My concern is - especially from buying over the 'net - how reliable is this seller, given the discrepency in warranty terms? BTW - update on ipmart.com: >>>>>> AP Set Items ID : 323256 Samsung Galaxy S Plus I9001 - 16GB http://www.ipmart.com/my/product/Samsung,G...php?prod=323256 SME Set Items ID : 323253 Samsung Galaxy S Plus I9001 - 8GB http://www.ipmart.com/my/product/Samsung,G...php?prod=323253 The SME set means that the warranty will be covered by Samsung Malaysia Electronics Sdn Bhd. >>>>>>>>>>> I must say ipmart.com customer service is excellent - they replied within a few hours of posting a query on both facebook as well as by email. Another option i am exploring is Senheng. Although the most expensive of the options, (RM1399), they do accept Amex so it brings the price down for me to RM1314. Plus i think(?) i read somewhere on Lowyat that they offer 3 year warranty (i presume its 1 year SME + 2 years store warranty)? Anyway i trying to confirm this morning . .. |

But at least SGSL has a head start, so it has slightly bigger community. imo it doesnt matter if its a GS phone or not, if they want to do it they could do it and come up with a mod already. my guess is that this phone has not so much demand like SGS2. and that cant be blame, i mean look at samsung advertisement in newspaper and all, did they ever advetise S+? they keep advertise SGS 2, which is obvious as samsung wants ppl to buy the expensive phone. even most of the shop sellers never heard of this phone before. heck, i didnt even know this phone existed, i only came accross senq ads in a newspaper and i was like "hey is this a new phone", i look it up the net and yeah it was a new phone. then finally i decided to buy it.http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Samsung_G...pport_Breakdown This device is essentially not even a Galaxy S phone.
