Rooted didn't change ur android version to 2.3.4
U need to install the ROM i.e the OS of the phone to version 2.3.4

Where and how can we download the paid app for free? we need to root the phone to use them for free?

With SuperUser, u can do alot of stuff.

1) Install this app called MarketEnabler to spoof your phone as one of the USA telco phones so that when u go to Android Market app, u can see apps reserved for USA market. Apps like Google Maps, Gmail, Youtube, Google +, Voice Search. This is how I get the latest Google Maps, Gmail, Youtube, Google+ version on my android

3)With SuperUser, u can install Root Explorer, and go into your hidden /System/Apps and deleted unwanted bloated apps.

Just bought mine samsung galaxy s plsu for a few days now. Nice phone. Just sometimes the main screen will lag a bit when using live wallpaper.Anyone know how to disable digi internet but enable mms? Cause i don have a data plan^^Thanks

dont use live wallpaper to save battery life.
