Lol,i dont like tat kind of touchpad buttons..always accidentally ter-click the wrong thing.Btw,wat do u mean by opening/closing the lid is not easy?

And PF T.J,how about comfortableness and do it feel good typing with that silver painted keyboard? How about those side by side shortcut keys? The notebook material and overall look?

The thing that confused me, Nero says that its Blu-ray Rewritter!
but i dont have blank blu-ray disc to test it out...

The speaker Really ROCKS! it sounds much better, for a notebook, its great.
it sounds like some small 2.1 system.

Does it have SATA III interface?
How many Ram slot does it have? smile.gif

The palm rest there is rubber-like plastic, feels like rubber, but hard as plastic.

For media key, those key are hard to press a bit than normal key, u should able to avoid mistype.

Before i buy it, i also think that it is just a blu-ray reader, but it supprise me when nero says it is writter. i would like to test it out if i got a blank blu-ray disc haha.

Err... its hard to explain what its like, maybe you can take a look at photos of the touchpad buttons, the buttons are "integrated" into the palm rest, meaning that when you open the lid, there's a chance of pulling the touchpad buttons instead hmm.gif (but may its just me being very rough haha)

I've always loved the Asus N series keyboard buttons.. they're large and comfortable to type on., and are quite accurate smile.gif
The additional multimedia keys seemed "deliberately cramped" into the keyboard haha laugh.gif

Notebook materials: I'm not very impressed. Imho, glossy materials shouldn't be made available already (its a design of the past)- the lid is very easily scratched. The palm rest plastic seemed hollow, very awkward. Keyboard is nicely made but I'm not sure whether the silver color-ed paints will drop off or not in the long run.

Overall looks: This is very subjective haha. But I really don't like the design even though the specs are awesome. The screen is too thick, with an uneven silver frame surrounding it. Speaker grill holes are weird, some big, some small laugh.gif Keyboard is okay, palm rest not okay haha...

Sorry if I'm a bit harsh.... I have to admit that I'm a bit disappointed with this new batch of N series compared to the previous ones sad.gif

Yea,tat's y i am a bit concerned about those multimedia keys and i've been asking whether it hinders ppl when typing (like tersalah tekan). And certainly like u,i am not impressed by glossy cover since they r fingerprint magnet.I still prefer N53SV design but N55SF specs certainly owning tongue.gif

Anyway noo worries.Coz that's exactly what i've been reading from other reviews. But still..the poison is strong... tongue.gif

Rest assured, the multimedia keys won't get in your way....
Because if you take a look at the old N43Sl:
Attached Image

There are still space in between the left and right side of the keyboard. What they did on the N45Sf (should be similar in the N55Sf as well) is fit one more column of multimedia keys into the keyboard~
There's minimal shift in the keyboard layout, so typing should still be a breeze imho laugh.gif

Yea, 1 Ram only.

With Subwoofer, Lite Bass and better vocal, especially when u see movie or drama.
without sub, sounds ok, just like N53SV speaker.

ohh ya, very loud brows.gif

Abit of an update after coming back from LYP laugh.gif

QUOTE(PF TJ)
Just got back from Lowyat Plaza...
Damn, there are a lot of Asus N45/55Sf over there... Even the Asus U46Sv is there as well

Took a closer look at the N45/55Sf...
Port placements for N45Sf is 1 E-sata/USB combo port on the left; 3 at the right.
Port placements for N55Sf is 2 USB ports on the left, 2 on the right.
But all the ports are placed at the front end of the laptop, not very well arranged
Oh ya, there's a subwoofer jack at the right side of the laptop

Touchpad buttons are continuous with the palm rest, opening/ closing the lid is not very easy

The screen is very thick, with an uneven silver border around the screen, which looks very awkward... Still abit disappointed with this 2 laptops despite the superb performance gain.
Asus U46Sv
- Lid is made of circular patterns which is kind of creative. Non-glossy and doesn't attract fingerprints and smudge.
- Built quality is way better than the previous U41Sv.
- Its not very light.
- The lid is similar to those of the new Dell Inspirons and Vostro units: The opening angle is rather restricted, with a slight protrusion at the back
- Keyboard style is chiclet, same as those from Asus A43 series, no flexes at all.
