I've went to AOnePlus too(Subang Avenue) and after reading this article, I've considered to avoid buying from them too.

I've purchased a basic PC which includes a 500W PSU, but when I got home, I found out the PSU they gave was 450W. I knew it was partially my fault for not checking thoroughly, but the representative(Terry) have installed it and should know which parts he had to assemble.

UPDATE AS REQUESTED: Got the 500W PSU,

It's not your fault at all. Buying computers should not feel like getting ripped off all the time. Its sad that retailers like Aone plus is spoiling the market for all the other retailers. I hope you went back to the shop and gave him a piece of your mind. vmad.gif

Btw, I've just checked the Aone website and I noticed that their message board (http://www.aoneplus.com/v4/) has been taken down from too many bad comments on it. I remember, b4 posting a link to my experience, of other ppl commenting that their prices are too high, bad service and etc. They can try to hide the truth but I believe that the consumers' choice will decide.

Nope. The one I'm ordering from the US is the active Miniport adapter but the ones that are carried in Digital Mall and the whole of Low Yatt is the passive version. I even checked with the distributor of Sapphire in Malaysia and they said they only brought in 10 units of the active adapter but took them 9 months to sell it. Guess not many ppl running the ATI Eyefinity.

Thankfully I have a friend thats coming down from Canada so I'll just order it from Newegg.ca, ship it to him and get it once he comes down.

So much trouble.. sigh

Terry,

First off thumbs up for having the guts to apologize for your mistake and rectifying it unlike my sales representative, ah LEONG from SS14 Digital Mall that posed as an anonymous user and tried to criticize me instead (refer to post by ajeeth24 on 23 July).

However, you can NOT ask UserU to withdraw his comment just because you fixed YOUR mistake. If he didn't check the PSU, he would have been scammed even IF that was not your intention! Asking him, "CAN YOU LET OTHER PEOPLE KNOW ABOUT THIS?" is a form of bribery and the lowest form in that matter. Literally, you are asking UserU to say good things about AonePlus only by replacing the wrong PSU (the mistake which you made in the first place, whether intentional or not, we will never know).

If you want to rectify your mistake, then you should have also have openly compensated him (even if its small) for his trouble to show your goodwill and intention that you did not want to cheat him. Show everyone that you are taking proper responsibilities for your actions and everyone will respect you.

For general information to other ppl mistreated by retailers, you should file your claims through Tribunal Tuntutan Pengguna Malaysia.

"The Tribunal for Consumer Claims is an independent body established under Section 85, Part XII of the Consumer Protection Act 1999. The Tribunal operates under the Ministry of Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism. The primary objective of establishing the Tribunal is to provide an alternative forum for consumers to file claims in a simple, inexpensive and speedy manner."

hhahaa.. i also dont believe.

Tell me if a business that makes rm720k sales only generated rm20k profit then still survive with so many branches.

Ok fine with the sponsor of rentals from vendors. But how about other expenses? workers? bills?

My experience of Aone,
My quotation of a basic computer took 30mins. They need to check and check thru their laptop. Ask them regarding certain products which they dunno what is that.

My recent experience at aoneplus digital mall

Case:

I went there to fix my pc, because can not be switch on. The Chinese guy (Not sure the name) inform me that I need to replace a motherboard and cooler fan, I said ok change it so he went to change the part and then after 45 minute he come back to me and told me my power supply spoiled need to be replace, I was stunt and nvm just change it also total cost nearly Rm600. cry.gif

After the guy fix everything and show me the pc can be on, but did not show can be fully function at all or not, he said to me bring back the receipt and the pc if the pc got problem.

So I went home and on the pc for my gf to use, then we found out there is no sound, and that time was already late I never bother to send it back to the shop.

After next few days I ask my gf send back the pc to the shop and bring the receipt.

First there is a Malay girl who attend to her then my gf explain that the pc got no sound after that day repair and ask them to check, the Malay girl took the receipt and the pc away then after 30 minute the malay girl pass the pc to my gf and tested the sound is ok and ask my gf to pay RM20. ??? should I pay for the rm20? mad.gif

So my gf called me and I ask her to pass to the malay girl to talk to me , instead of the malay girl , an Indian guy answer the phone ( only got 2 indian there 1 short 1 tall) the short 1 answer to me , and keep explaining that troubleshoot and install driver need Rm20. So I told him it’s the Chinese guy who ask me to send the pc if got problem so I send and now u all charge me Rm20. He said need install driver that’s y 20 , and he don’t give me chance to talk so I asked him to fk off mad.gif ( I was so piss off because he keep repeating RM20 is for troubleshoot but did not really see the problem there) and he started to talk louder ,saying me uneducated , asking me to find him for fight! Lol aoneplus hire gangster to bully the customer huh? icon_question.gif

So I call another guy Mr yu and explain to him the problem he said will get back to me about the problem. But I will just wait then.

Aoneplus are like never inform the customer on what part to change? Thy change it then ask to pay straight, what if customer do not agree to change? Its like I give u food that u did not request and charge you!

If any of you wanted to buy or fix thing there, please tell them first “ let me know if anything wrong before you change”, if not thy will straight change and charge you. rclxm9.gif

But better don’t go there anymore la rclxms.gif , I not sure about others branch, but digital mall? No thanks there’s a gangsters shop.

Install driver 20 ringgit??? Audio driver only wor...
Then again, most shop don't give software warranty or support. Better clarify with your sales first. Even Acer authorized service center will charge 60 to restore OS even if you bought new. First time only free if I'm not mistaken.

yes, this should be the practice. most of the comp shops' so called "technician" have no idea what they're doing. they just troubleshoot by replacing parts. then charge you for everything. doh.gif there are the few that are knowledgeable, but most aren't. so NEVER trust them completely. i'm betting your issue was the power supply all along. PSU, even cheap ones, have circuit breakers, so the mainboard are usually not harmed by minor surge.

oh yeah, i hate aone plus too. mad.gif . their price after member's discount is still higher than ALL IT. plus, crappy service.

Aoneplus 'replaced' my Dell laptop's video card. That was what they told me and charged me RM400! I asked for the old card and they could not show me.. they told me they threw it away.

Well I saw my laptop coming to life but after one week, my laptop won't start again! I brought it back to the store and they told me to wait for 2 weeks! After 2 weeks, its working fine again but lasted only for a week!! Seems they just want me to repeat same cycle again and again!

When I searched the net, I learned that you can just heat the video card and temporary bring back video card to life. I did the instruction and it was true! For only few minutes the laptop is alive but it will only last temporarily.

Damn I felt really cheated by Aoneplus making me believe they really replaced the card. What was worse - they broke the insides of my laptop. I won't ever be coming to that store again. They can't be trusted. That's how I felt.

mohon mod to PIN this thread. Same bad service from AONEPLUS digital mall pj too

Summary of my story: so called technician/salesman that lie just to get the sales going.

Lesson to learn: unfortunate if you are a tech noob but even the tech-in-touch ones get conned because they lie without blinking and eyeballs straight in your eyes. (I guess you have to ask your spirit guides or pray before going into this shop and hope that it wont be a multi-trip)
