U have to use a mobile phone or any other method. For postpaid broadband eg maxis they offer web portal to check usage. I guess prepaid only can use USSD to check. I'm using this modem too. I have been using for nearly a year now after I got my iPad last year. I wanted to share out my connection. Anyway, my setup will be as below: fruitie's modem: ZTE MF622 ISP: Maxis 3G Unlimited Internet So far, I have no complaint for it. It is good and stable. The only bad thing is it is bulky but thank God it is light enough for me to transport back to hometown when I go back.

Another reason why I bought it is because I didn't want to waste my current USB modem. I could have bought a HSPA MiFi but that basically makes my modem go wasted.
I prefer LAN connection to my laptop and WiFi on my iPad.
I bought it at RM 103 and that was last year, nowadays it is getting cheaper. Really worth every penny spent.

So, do u all want to add to the list? BTW, this HW550-3G just a router that no build in modem function. Still need a 3G modem dongle or ADSL modem(TM streamyx). 3g wireless gateway, no need 3G modem dongle. The 3G modem build in already so there is a sim card slot/tray to slot in the card. I believe this have higher gain/ reception strength due to power by direct power suply not via USB port which only 5V. Last time Maxis got provide rental this type modem and now pull out already. This not cheap need approximate RM400 source: http://www.3gmodem.com.hk/Huawei/E960.htmlThis post has been edited by wkkm007: Aug 2 2011, 07:57 PM

Damn it, I brought it @ RM 105 last night in Kota Kinabalu!
But it still worth to have, I feel that is faster then I connect directly to my Huawei modem to my laptop's USB.
My setup: modem + broadband modem Huawei E156 (DIGI)

In KK, I believe that should be considered reasonable. Considering the transportation fees. By the way, TS, if you want to you can add me into the list. I have no problem with it.

Looks like my Belkin lightning surge protector is a real worthwhile investment.
