Hi,
I'm from Europe and I have the opportunity to buy this laptop GE620DX-297NL.
The default configuration is something like that:
i5 2410, 4GB Ram, 500GB@7200, 1920x1080, GT555
and the seller is offering me an upgrade to have it like this
i5 2410, 8GB Ram, 750GB@7200 (WD Black), 1920x1080, GT555 ... only ram and hdd upgraded.
1 .The final price will be 1000 USD. Is ok this price for an i5 version ?
2. How is the laptop ? Are you satisfied guys with it ?
3. Also, if the seller will open for upgrade, can he mess something to not work ? Or for upgrading the hdd and ram to require more power and to be designed for default configuration ?
4. The hdd has a fixed position or you can put the cables so so as in desktop if you are not pushing them firmly ?
Thanks.
1. The price seems good for it. The processor and GC seems to be the older version. Do check if there is the newer processor like i5-2430m. If you are not using it for heavy work, 4GB ram is quite sufficient.
2. I am satisfied with mine. Its a mid range gaming laptop best bang buck for its price and performance.
3. Find out if the seller is a authorized dealer. IF he only upgrades the HDD and RAM. then warranty shouldnt be voided. But this applies only for Malaysia, you have to contact MSI Europe for more info. Upgrading RAM and HDD will not really take up alot power than your default configuration. The power brick is 120W so its pretty sufficient. I do no have any problem even thou Im using a i7 processor
4. I dont quite understand the question. Laptop hdd has a fixed position/slot. It is screwed to a caddy and then put into the slot where its screwed in to hold. It does not involve any kind of cable etc.
