want to ask, can someone holding sunway student card go into monash ?
*
Definitely as sunway and monash share lib facilities.

looks like monash is getting more and more commercialized. although making $$$/breaking even is important, i believe as an respectable institution they have a standard and reputation to maintain.
*
MONey and cASH sound familiar to you somewhat? It seems like its only good from the outside/on paper but internal mgmt sucks.. alot of incompetent staff sometimes.. hate the Q in finance counter cos there aint no right button to press.. there's effectively 5 or 6 different Q's and a long wait.. standing in line back then was so much faster

Anyone else going for the summer school in December? I wish I didn't need to sign up, but otherwise I won't be graduating in time. biggrin.gif

International business sure is popular!
*
Yup cos its a major-inclusive unit for both IB and mgmt.. but if u have electives can try PSY1011 if u like to read cos its a MCQ paper, 100Q but kinda tricky.. also can try AFW1310 Islamic banking.. only two formulas for calculation, rest is words and diagrams

i have a question here...do monash offer business double major degree? sad.gif
*
Yes, most areas-of-study (majors) are available here except tourism http://www.monash.edu.au/pubs/2012handbook...urses/2224.html

I'm okay with taking up random electives, but what about job prospects after graduation? All I want is just my foot in the door, and that's it. sad.gif
Exactly. Did you graduate with a single major?  icon_question.gif
*
Reason being why most ppl like to do 2 majors is that a course has 24 units (herein referred to as 24u)
One major 8 units
Core units 6 units
Balance 10 units; thats why if u minus 8 for 2nd major, u only have 2 electives to choose from.

IB is a rojak major, bit of finance, econs, mgmt so maybe u might want to consider taking IB.
Finance has good prospects, even better with econs if u can manage it. "London Tokyo NY HK" finance hubs lol

@LGgroup, that's the thing! But I can only join the August intake, A Levels result just came out. What do you mean 12 weeks stuff into 6 weeks? I thought during the summer I'll be taking another 2 units as well. Just like what I'll be doing soon, no?

P.S / Do we have like a LowYat meet up or something? It'll definitely be nice to know more people around.
*
Double summer is not as easy as it sounds brows.gif been there done that.

Sunway and Monash are part of Jeffrey Cheah Educational Trust and I dont think $$$ is the prime objective and whatever $$$ made is plough back for further development.

If for commercial reasons, he would have just placed them into one of his PLCs, like HELP and SEGI.

So other than that reason, why else would one do double major? You graduated, right? Was it a significant boost to show your prospective employers that you had double major? I really just wanna do Management. icon_rolleyes.gif

Thanks, ceo, you're really helpful as always!

Berwick is nearer to the city (40-50 mins by train), Gippsland is pretty far in regional Victoria.

i think u can voice this up to ur student rep so the student services can do something to assist you all... a coordinated process rather than each student doing their own

You seem to be very much "commercialised". $$$$ is not everything. Many successful ppl have given a lot back to society, which in the first place has contributed much to their well being.

probably you dont know... yes the entity is non-profit but where do the shareholders make their cut?

do u know how much $$$ monash msia is sending back to monash aus each year?

do u know who build the campus? and make $$$ out of it? the campus was to spearhead the development of the 2nd lagoon..

dont be too naive...

Non-profit organisation means profit motive is not the main concern but fulfilling the objective of the set-up is.

It doesnt mean you cannot make money but they dont give dividends.

Building a campus and expanding it are part of the agenda to achieve the objective and you dont expect the contractor not to profit on a commercial transaction. The same applies to Monash Malaysia and Monash Aus and any payment made are pre-determined and agreed upon.

it depends on the subject rather than major.... if you're left with subjects that are available in aus, then you can transfer or u can grad with enough relevant credit offered by aus then u can grad from there... its better to talk to the course manager or head of school for these matter
