QUOTE(ZeneticX @ Sep 8 2011, 01:06 AM) compared with the m14x....clearly the xps 15 have better specs The Dell XPS15, upon upgrading, is still more powerful and relatively cheaper compared to the M14x, but at the expense of portability but i cant resist the design of the alienware I don't really like the awkward design of the XPS15, but after upgrading to FullHD screen etc., its still one of the best multimedia machines at the moment |

But I think its still lighter (although bulkier) than the M14x As lee_what sifu mentioned, both have backlit keyboards, the M14x has more color options, and there are several other places which can be lighted up Both have USB3.0 |

QUOTE(MrAvatar @ Sep 8 2011, 12:27 PM) Yeah, it has been recommended before Especially to those who wanted both class and performance in a gaming laptop Here's the reviews on the previous VX7: http://www.notebookcheck.net/Review-Asus-V...ok.56812.0.html http://www.laptopmag.com/review/laptop/asu...rghini-vx7.aspx Not as good as expected, especially if you prefer gaming performance/ laptop user friendliness over looks/ class The newer version of the VX7 is more powerful~ |

Hi all sifus and simous, newbie here, nice to meet all of you.
Just wondering what laptop should i get for university, here is my budget and usages: 1. Brand : Not really sure which brand is the best. What you guys recommend? I want a brand that is ok and so-so, Not looking for the best but somewhere in the middle. 2. Budget : My budget is around 1.5k to 1.8k 3. Usage : Mainly for surfing the net, watching movies, games like DotA, CoD, L4D, or other popular games such as NFS which i have never played before on my lousy desktop i'm using right now. And also engineering programs which probably requires alot of RAM? 4. Size : 14' laptop. HD size doesn't matter as i bought the 500gb seagate HD from IT Fair which costs RM 99 I want at least an i5 and a ok/so-so graphic card. I want a laptop that is able to run smoothly, for example run music in the background while i'm doing assignments with internet explorer/firefox running. I just hope to get a laptop that is value for money. It's my first time buying a laptop/owning a laptop. Thanks. |
