QUOTE(Mr Rock @ Sep 5 2011, 04:04 AM)
Hi, Im planning to buy Asus G53SX but i just found that it is 128bit and worse than G53sw.... Does it makes big difference?

Actually Im planning to get VX7 but it has been months since the pre-order and it is still no stock (told by the stuff there, dunno true onot... sad.gif ). As it is the same price, I want to change the model to G74SX but unfortunately, No Stock too...... since i need a computer as soon, i hv no choice but to choose G53.....

However, the stuff there recommend me to get 1 Toshiba X770~ but that thing i dun like is that the X770 RAM oni support max to 8GB....and i can't upgrade it in the future...and the heat-releasing is not as good as G53..... At the point, i can get Toshiba Qoasmio F750 whick is cheaper but nt big difference ( graphic card, full hd 3d, 17 inch)...

Im suffering on it, and i hv to get a laptop as soon...... any good suggestion?

ps. is there anywhere i can get G74Sx? cash and carry?

M14x fan is loud, you can ask [PF] T.J. laugh.gif
If you can up 1'' screen, can take alook on Asus G53SX with GTX560M@RM3999, but only HD screen.

Yeah, the M14x fan is very loud, which happens to be the biggest drawback of the M14x laugh.gif
But the recent BIOS update seemed to decrease the noise by a lot thumbup.gif

Exactly smile.gif
Both NP8130 and NP8150 are upgradable as long as the upgrade mobile GPU is MXM type.

For NP8130, you will need a 180W power adapter to support higher grade GPU like 6990M and GTX580M. You can get the 180W adapter from us directly.

For NP8150, you only need to buy new GPU because the default power supply is 180W.

All GPUs are coming along with heat sink, free installation (including BIOS flash) and free IC Diamond thermal apply + stress testing. (1 working day)

That's the weird thing, I don't see any degradation in terms of cooling efficiency...
I think the BIOS update rendered the fan speed switching to become smoother and thus less annoying, without affecting the overall cooling effect hmm.gif

Yeah that's weird. Maybe you can run some stress tests for the new BIOS system.

smile.gif... no gaming is required...
But, I will be using Adobe photoshop/Lightroom/Premiere most of the time to edit photos/video, so do I really need a good graphic card?

Many customers have asked whether or not we offer ALIENWARE systems.

Recently we have successfully sourced a powerful supply from oversea, consist of M11X, M14X, M17X and M18X. We have negotiated with the supplier and get much much cheaper prices than Malaysia (DELL online), especially the M17X.

However, DELL Malaysia claims the oversea machines must have 3 years on-site warranty (can be extended when arrive MY) in order to have cross-regional support. And M18X has no warranty support in MY, Singapore but can claim warranty oversea.

Please give some opinions. If the demand is not high, we will not take the risk by importing these ALIENWAREs.

Afaik, if you're not into 3D stuffs, then don't really need a dedicated GPU nod.gif
Though I've heard that the upcoming Photoshop series will work smoother with a dedicated GPU, but still not compulsory. Do correct me if I'm wrong sifus laugh.gif
The Vaio is a good choice, but suffers from heat and fan issues iinm... so you might want to take a look at the Asus instead if you want a dedicated GPU nod.gif
Otherwise, I would vote for the Portege R830 for pure lightness! wub.gif

Actually not into 3D stuffs, I'm just editing those RAW format photos and also some HD video editing.

VAIO having problem on heat and fan? Hmm... actually this VAIO S model is one of my choices as well...

How about Fujitsu, like SH561 model? or Asus U36SD (not sure whether out already or not)? Actually I do consider Portege R830 too, but just that no dedicated GPU, not sure whether is that really matter for my case here....

If you're looking for a very durable laptop, then Fujitsu will be a good choice nod.gif
Mind sharing where you find this SH561 model? I've been having some problems looking for Fujitsu brochures laugh.gif
Fujitsu LifeBook SH561, i5-2410M + Nvidia GT520m... seems quite good nod.gif
I think the Dell Vostro V131 with 3 years NBD warranty OR Toshiba Portege (i5 variant; i7 variant is out of your budget unfortunately) R830 [3 years international warranty] OR the Asus U31Sd [2 years international warranty] would be the best options laugh.gif
