QUOTE(lee_what2004 @ Aug 22 2011, 01:59 AM) DVD, pretty much restricted to 14''.. Colour choice, there's HP G4, Asus A43Sj, Vaio VPCEG16EG But Asus A-series, its speaker isn't that loud.. dont go for hp it is selling laptop and pc business you wont have any support after 6 months...go for asus its really reliable...i suppose asus is no.1 in malaysia Added on August 22, 2011, 3:04 ami wont go for hp even if it offers me 90 percent discount ..they themselves think that there products are of no use Added on August 22, 2011, 7:09 amjust saw asus n55 live demo..it is worthy competitor to xps.. looks heavy and is thick as well..very glossy ..fingerprint magnet ..strange contrast between keyboard and display panel..decent screen but external sub woofer rocks..awsome sound..best sound from laptop at par with dell xps This post has been edited by rohit12: Aug 22 2011, 07:09 AM

Between the HP dv6-6114tx and Asus N55SF (core i5), which to pick?
The HP has core i7, HD6770m (>GT555M B2?), and better design than the Asus (IMO).
But the Asus N55SF has a lower price tag and HD+ screen in its favour.
Is the difference between the two graphics cards big? I don't mind the processor difference between the two though.
Thanks!

Which one is better depends very much on whether you're using the laptop for gaming, or working If you're into gaming, the Dv6 will be better because of (i) a better GPU; (ii) lower resolution; if you're using it for work, its vice versa. Higher screen resolutions will offer much more working space for you

QUOTE(IvanWong1989 @ Aug 22 2011, 11:47 AM) iirc 6770m better than 555m... GT555m (m14x/ XPS 17) is more or less on par with AMD 6770 in terms of gaming, because the AMD 6770 isn't optimized for certain games, hence the results are poorer.. But overall performance I would say the 6770 is still slightly better than the GT555m [B1]

Might want to consider buying an M17x R2 and then upgrade it with the latest GPU like what hidz7 did since the R2 is basically better in terms of build etc. If you one to customize your M17x (e.g. with customized name plates and specifications) at discounted prices, can try to PM viper88

The GPU would become problem for new games first before the Core i5 bottleneck...
