mere office work , surfing , movie .
duralibility n reliability

budget : around 2.5k

Any suggestion biggrin.gif     (currently looking at dell vostro v131 )

If you're opting for the Vostro V131, you should go for the one with i3-2330M instead of the i5 variant because of potential heat problems...
If you're looking for an i5- powered one, Dell Vostro 3350 would be a better choice nod.gif

Can consider Dell Inspiron 13z, i3-2330M + Intel HD3000@RM1899; colors: black/red as well, but generally Vostros are more user friendly icon_rolleyes.gif

Go for Dell XPS 15 with FullHD screen upgrade, this one should be the best option laugh.gif
Dell XPS 15, i7-2630QM + Nvidia GT540M@RM3699 [JBL], upgradeable to FullHD, backlit keyboard customizable
Use the remaining money to extend warranty to 3 years~

Anyway, can try getting from this guy: http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=1991472&hl=

The 17'', Sager NP5175 can configure to Core i7 2720QM and cost RM4,143
http://www.illegear.com/17-inch-and-larger...ger-np5175.html

15'', there's XPS 15, Asus N55SF, Acer 5755G, Lenovo Y570..
14'' with Core i7 you can get below RM3K, like Lenovo Y470, Asus A43Sv..
