Do you all think Travelmate 8481 is worth 2,600myr? The spec is without additional GPU.

Quick Overview

- Acer TravelMate TM8481-2462G32 14"
- Intel® Core™ i5-2467M-1.6GHz
- 2GB DDR3 RAM, 320GB HDD
- Intel® HD Graphics 3000
- Windows® 7 Professional 32

Lurking around, seems like Singapore broadband provider is bundle with the with additional GPU, 8481G, will it every make it here? I wonders

Powerful Processor – Modern Intel Core i7-2637M processor
Dedicated Graphics – Nvidia GeForce 520 with Nvidia Optimus

yeah, the question is "so far", now the news coming out about Ultrabook, I wondering now, worth to spend it now or not.
8481 is so tempting, wondering worth the wait or not, Acer is like chipsmore, sometimes, they just discontinue things...

I find that 8481 still attractive because of the following points:

1. Smallest footprint 14" notebook. It is a full size 14" screen on a 13.3" footprint.
2. Lightest 14". At 1.5kg, it is even lighter than most 13.3".
3. No discrete GPU - ya, this is a plus point since it 520m is not much better than HD3000. Save battery, runs cooler without it.

Get 8481 if you want absolute mobility with 14" screen. It is also more convenient than MBA since it comes with VGA, ethernet...

But if you are fine with 13.3", do check out Dell Vostro V131. You'll get full Sandy Bridge i3 speed at 2.2ghz at much cheaper price. It's 300 grams heavier.

BUT if you can wait till Sep, you really should check out Ultrabook...
