Dear forumers. I've encountered another issue. I am unable to boot into OSX without Opencore USB.
I mounted the EFI folder of the Catalina drive and have overwritten the contents with those of Opencore boot USB as per guide. But the boot menu does not detect the Catalina drive.
Any ideas why?
*
Did your bios detect your macOS drive?
if yes then set it as primary boot.

Tried hackintoshing my old intel rig last night,
i5-3450
Gigabyte H-61MA-D2V
Samsung Evo 860 250GB
MSI 1050TI

I attempted with High Sierra since it's the highest supported OSX for the Pascal GPU.

Upon first boot, i got no audio and the following system report

Seems like the 1050TI is not recognized? The monitor is also wrong. I'm using an old Dell 23" monitor

Any ideas?

Scrapped and rebuilt my Hackintosh

i5 9400
Asus Prime z390M-Plus
Corsair RAM 16GB
Samsung EVO 256GB

Still failed to boot without OpenCore USB despite replacing the EFI folder. So created a small 200MB partition in OSX SSD, formatted to FAT, copied OpenCore USB contents into it. Finally managed to boot without the USB.

Unfortunately, another problem popped up. Upon rebooting, I was shown the "American Megatrends safe mode POST screen"

Still looking for the solution. Something to do with AppleRTC?

hackintosh will still be alive for the next few years. I think it took Apple 3 years to move totally from powerpc to intel.

What I meant is, do we still need to hackintosh where apple product is already cheap and powerful especially the entry level mac mini. Rm2.9k.
