Amazon pilot reveals. So will Walter White cameo enough to get the show pick-up?
It does rip off elements of the excellent The Imposter documentary.

For me the funniest show right now.
Each episode he review 3 random absurd things. The clever bit is how they incorporate these experiences into an overarching story. There are a lot of clips available on comedy central's youtube channel. You will need to watch the full episode on how they weave in those reviews in his life for even greater laughs.
The negative is try not to binge watch it as the novelty can wear off a bit with its rigid structure. Kinda like the american "Office". Space out in between episodes and currently 2nd season just aired.

First half of Unreal is sublime. Things got a little soapy drama near the end, but nonetheless amazing show.
Deutschland 83, a more grounded reality spy drama and not the sexy type of "the americans". Reminded me of "tinker, tailor, soldier" type of direction. It does paint a clearer rendition of the 80's cold war paranoia.

Netflix's Narcos is pretty dope. It has that "goodfellas" balance of witty voice over narration and nutty ultra violence. This is not the lame Robocop's Jose Padilha but "The Elite Squad" former kind of glory film direction. So far so good at episode 3. The actor playing Pablo Escobar pretty rad.

Quantico is not bad. If you are familiar with HTGAWM you will be at home. Brilliant mentor leading a group of promising students. Just the context is in FBI with a terrorist attack involving one of the students in your trusty flash forward story mechanics. If you can look past the glossy casting of pretty people and some cheesy bits, there's enough story and hook to keep watching for a few more episodes.

My,my...Kingdom,The Knick,Homeland,She's the worst..this fall just stacked with good tv. Rick and Morty is fast becoming my favourite TV fix. It can get way more dirtier and absurd than Futurama.

Hope it does justice to the source material. TWD is too repetitive to watch right now.

Was raiding my colleague's music stash and came across Mogwai's OST for this french show. Then got a big lecture for not watching it. Gotta say it's very awesome and IMO a giant middle finger to Damon Lindelof. The mystery keeps unraveling at a hypnotic pace where you are satisfied with each revelation. It just has that forward momentum. No pandering or long drawn out plot to mask the mystery. Top notch acting and film direction to tie up the whole package. Season 1 fully available on netflix while season 2 just premiered on Sundance TV.
There are 2 competing US remakes which got cancelled recently, the first one was Resurrection, which based on a book called The Returned that heavily "inspired" by a 2004 film "Les Revenants" aka "They came back" which this show is based upon. A&E just canned their direct adaptation called The Returned if that is not confusing enough. At the end of the day, the one to watch still the french tv version.

Errrmmmmm....not want I have in mind. It looks too polished and not ugly enough as the books were rich with fcuked up southern "red neck" aesthetic. Maybe look see 2 episodes and see how it goes from there.

NSFW language...

Master of None is a very good show. Not a big fan of Aziz Ansari upfront, this show converted me so. It's not rehashing his shallow caricature act from Park and Rec. The quality is as great as CK Louis/Lena Dunham type of writing. It's earnest and insightful to every man child that bury deep in us. It tackles a lot of important issues that we took for granted like racism, parenting and growing up to be an adult. You gotta give them credit for good taste to use Aphex Twin - Come to daddy in one of the episode. The music they use on the show is perfect.

The Last Panthers is a pretty grimy look at the eastern europe criminal world. The panther is a reference to the real world "pink panthers" heist gang. It's a lot more "Eastern Promises","A Prophet " rather than "Ocean Eleven". John Hurt's appearance just makes the show classy. So far the pilot is promising provided you are willing to sit through the artsy slow pacing direction. David Bowie supplies the rather good opening track.

To those interested in knowing the pink panthers.

Spotless felt a lot like watching Breaking Bad rip-off. Not gonna say it's comparable or even come close. It sorta mirroring story beats of Walter White. You have a legitimate crime scene cleaner Jean who got tangled with a powerful crime boss that riffing Gus Fring. His brother is a spiritual Jesse Pinkman character that a blessing and curse at the same time. The hook of the show is seeing them manipulating murder scene and using it as a means of leverage. The issue is dozen of subplot running concurrently with questionable plot holes and unwarranted shocking development, it does overwhelm you a little. The frustrating part is on and off there are impressive scenes to be had that keeps you wanting to continue watching. Truly dug the mob boss character. All in all, still an interesting show.

To those who were fascinated by HBO's The Jinx, do not miss Making A Murderer. It's the opposite of the Robert Durst case.
Now they explore when you are not rich and influential, how do you fight injustice of epic proportion. Each episode with a cliffhanger that you will scream at the screen and you will question faith in humanity.

Finally got around to finish Making A Murderer. Urge some of you do give this show a glance. It's an important TV show that not just deserves a wider audience but a significant one to say the least. Not many TV shows that can prompt Anonymous to mount a campaign and social media trolling that does actual damage to the alleged evil lawyer in the show. Be prepared to get infuriated by the events of the trial.

Billions way too fluffy with the hollywood treatment. Bedrag with a similar premise that's far grittier and gnarly human drama. The behind the scene manipulation is ruthless and Bobby Axelrod just a spoilt brat in comparison to the power player in the danish crime thriller.

Amazon's Mad Dogs is worth a watch. So far 3 episodes in, it's an improvement over the UK version. The UK version was 4 episodes per season that have inconsistencies of one to the other. This time around the set-up is a lot more coherent due to better budget and time to allow the scenario runs its own course. Be patient with it as the series goes deeper, the crazier it will get.

I do like this show a lot, it retains the strong British dark humor tone with wacky plot threads. It does a lot of fresh things with a tired premise. Granted, there is some cop out moments but the likable performances outweigh the sum of the negative bits.

HBO's Vinyl is off to a good start....not sure will it hit the tv gold status as a little too early to tell. In a nutshell, it's telling sleazy 70s music industry in the famous Scorsese's Goodfellas narrative structure. Cheeky VO cutting through the in and out of running a questionable record company. Ray Romano came off as surprise casting with his sleazy snake oil salesman persona as the right hand man to the immoral lead Bobby Cannavale. Juno Temple will be there to provide the sleeping around kind of distraction. Great music throughout. Don't miss this if you are a fan of Mad Men.
