The AF-S 35mm f1.8 DX focusing is super slow. Even the AF lens is faster doh.gif

If compared to the f/1.4 gold ring primes, I think still comparable. They aren't exactly fast too, guess it is normal for prime lens.

The 35mm DX focus lock is damn dead slow

Even the 35mm AF F2.0 is faster! doh.gif

How many of you shoot RAW files?

I don't really shoot RAW, always JPEGs all the way

I only shoot RAW when I am doing commercial shots for large printing

I think most people shoot RAW because they are afraid of screw up the picture and with RAW, they can adjust more

But I don't really shoot RAW even doing commercial now

Maybe you could share some of this screw ups that might occur in RAW smile.gif (kinda like a pro-guide to us noobies)

For me screw up means in both RAW or Jpeg if picture is blur, eyes not sharp, bad framing is GG especially in candid and street photography

The tree top right and bottom left are distracting!

Crop tighter and make it half body, the guy's hand in the centre doesn't make appropriate to the group photo, crop to half body will make it better

Next time shoot through using shoot through umbrella, if you are using 1 flash, put it in the centre, else if you are using 2 flash, put it on left and right to eliminate the shadow (look at the guy's hand)

Of course, but the focal length will be 75mm (DX crop factor 1.5x)
