cant update everyday due to slow line here.. =/
er anyway.. my laptop now kinda cacated after following wpt + blackviper guide.. now discharging at -9.2w .. (78% 4.50 hours left)
frustrated yawn.gif
now i have to revert all setting to original and start back from scratch so that i can identify what makes my laptop power hungrier than before.
now max 6 hours only.. cudnt reach 8 hour+ anymore >.>

my ram usage, before 800mb+- ... now 1.1gb. ughh

anyway, how to reverse the boot trace process? i have a feeling that its one of the culprit . huu

if u r in normal mode, 1.2-1.5 is normal
1.0 is no startup av etc.
0.6 is safemode with network n sound
0.4 is safemode
if u use mozilla with manny pin stuff, wLive mail open with msn n skype, 2gb500mb is very normal(most of the time @ home my ram usage is 2.3 surfing chatting n skyping
when go uni go safemode, juz dun go uhum websites kena compromised cuz no av, btw, safe mode wif network n sound 1 core 1 thread is more than enuf for batt to last long, cuz less power is needed to store data on the ram.. (ur ram more full, more electric used)
juz bare with the ugly windows look..

Hey i'm from the UK just got my N53SN a few days back. The screen came with a load of stuck pixels on it. Trying to get the retailer to sort it out as you can't directly go to Asus apparently. Anybody had any issues like this? seems to be a manufacturing issue ><

Quick thing that i found after doing some boot time checks using the tool you guys use from the V1 forum. I had a USB mouse in first time registering 70 secs boot up and i took this out and tried again and it went down to 50 secs!

I have disabled UAC and have no password (purely for this test) just to make sure nothing else was affecting it.

Could having a USB device really stall the boot up for 20secs!?

Furthermore, the only game i have attempted to play is Silkroad Online, at current everytime i load it up at 1920x1080 with that resolution setting in the game client. It always shows up like its too large to fit on screen. I have tried adjusting the resolution whilst this is open and the only way i can show it alright is to plug the HDMI cable into my TV and adjust it that way to a custom size. Its a royal pain in the ass! vmad.gif

1. I think your GPU is faulty or do you still have a faulty motherboard? ur Asus laptop should have a sticker saying New Revision Certified Design

2. When using BootTimer, make sure u press RUN as quickly as possible as the time is still running. I really dun think ur USB mouse is effecting the boot up time. I always have my wireless mouse receiver plug into the laptop. Rarely pull it out.

3. Maybe is the game problem??? or maybe when ur playing the game it's actually using Intel's GPU??? Try and make sure the white lights appears when playing the game

PS: off topic....another Simon laugh.gif

stuck pixels? u mean dead pixels? Asus soo claim they checked their screens be4 they sell the lappies.. guess the workers eyes dry ardy.. juz go asus Sc, doubt the retailers do anything cuz itz manufacturer's problem by law, they fix it...

I tried updating the driver through device manager but yeah that was stupid. Where can i get the latest one? (I'm not currently able to access my lappie atm)

With the USB boot up thing, It was when i had my Razer Naga and just my fan cooler plugged in. I'll try it with my 1TB HDD aswell.

The retailer said they had to check with Asus about it, i dont know what the policy is but when i went on the Asus help site regarding repairs it said contact the retailer so i'm stuck for now. Been waiting a month for this and when i get it, its not 100% ARRGH!

There have been a dozen others in their shipment with the same issue! and i said stuck as usually dead pixels are black and theres nothing that can be done, but these MANY (1/3 of the screen) pixels dispplay colour at different times which some people say that the transistors are stuck in one colour or something and they need to be reset. although it seems to be getting worse, not impressed at all with the screen, but the rest is alright.

Anyone upgraded to an SSD drive or hybrid SSD? just want to know if its worth going for one?

lol chill bro. You can never get a perfect laptop.

Anyway, i nvr trust device manager to update my drivers.
Try to go to:
Nvidia website = for getting latest graphic driver
Intel's website = for latest graphic driver. Incase u din know, the Intel's GPU is called HD3000/2000. So search a driver for it biggrin.gif
Asus website = Get the latest BIOS and update it via EZ Flash

Also, i din the whole pixel thing should be covered by Asus instead your retailer. Try contacting Asus Service Center

I'll try calling them directly, hopefully they will have this collection service. I just want the laptop of my dreams, and i'm most of the way there happy.gif.

Oh and The only thing i do pay for software wise is the AntiVirus/Firewall, I dont trust MS ware, I was on defender and a decent config of windows firewall and i transferred and got on BitDefender, found a hell of a lot of crap. I'd say BitDefender is worth a 30 day trial!!
