QUOTE(richardt3o @ Sep 13 2011, 01:01 AM) so the fog light also act as a turning light huh? DAMN! How further better can a GOLF GTI gets. I have no idea how VW gonna make the next GOLF even better. If you also noticed even closer, both the Golf TSI and GTI will have their headlight xenon bulb swivel as well. Those are the real turning lights. The fog lights is just another added feature |

QUOTE(gladfly @ Sep 14 2011, 04:31 PM) Which means aftersales SERVICE will head south...to many VW..not enough service centres ... It's not cheap to open one bro. Need at least a start up of around RM30million and if I am not mistaken, they want dealers now to open a 4S center which will include bodywork and spray with at least 20 car bays.VGM pls do something about this!!!! |

QUOTE(rstusa @ Sep 14 2011, 07:47 PM) Few days ago one of my friend drove his golf gti here and let me test, the power is super impressive with a good listening sport engine sound, you can actually switch off your radio and just enjoy the engine sound enough. I'm addicted to its performance. Yeah the Polo GtI has a lot of power! In terms on engine sound, which part of the Golf GTI did you like? The DSG fart or the sound of the turbo?I can't afford to buy a golf gti currently, so plan to get a polo gti. Anyone here tested polo gti before? Perhaps it has the good listening sport engine sound like golf gti. Added on September 14, 2011, 10:34 pm QUOTE(elainor @ Sep 14 2011, 03:54 PM) Woah expecting to see a lot of polo gti flooding on the road soon! I guess it's selling like a hotcakes currently! Kudos to Vw malaysia marketing n sales power! Not to mention bout the after sales warranty! Bang for the bucks! Cheers! We will see more next year when the customers get their cars from March 2012 This post has been edited by Mavik: Sep 14 2011, 10:34 PM |

QUOTE(KiliKulu @ Sep 14 2011, 11:43 PM) Does any tsi owners here feels that golf tsi road noise is quite loud frm inside? My passenger said its even louder than his nissan latio with 17 inch tyres. Mine is ori rims. Comments? QUOTE(jyth_82 @ Sep 15 2011, 04:29 AM) I'm feeling the same as well... What tires are yours? Using the original tires which is the continental. Funnily, its only the road noise, other traffic noise is definitely almost silent. This is a known issue as well guys, bring it to your service centers and complain about it. They have a few fixes for this whether it is to adjust the rubber lining on the doors or adjust the doors themselves. Tell them in particular where you hear the sound the most. Any recommendation - will probably change to it after the ori wears out! QUOTE(kursk @ Sep 15 2011, 05:59 AM) Awesome, thanks for sharing. The Golf on the right, using the Kerscher kit. Not many people opt to get that kit! QUOTE(rstusa @ Sep 15 2011, 08:28 AM) Actually I not really like the exterior for both golf gti & polo gti, but if you blind my eyes without looking at the exterior and went into the interior, looking at the interior I feel like driving a super sport car. If you order today, not too sure if you can even get it at March 2012 as they have so many bookings already. If you want I can pass you to me sales agent and she can help you with the car. Also yeah the Polo GTI will be faster mainly because it is tuned to a higher power and its a lighter car. The sound I also not sure either turbo or dsg, lol.. I think should be the dsg gear changing + pick up power by twin turbo changer. Did you test polo gti before? I want to know more about it compare to golf gti, it seems an affordable powerful car. Tonight going to test my friend newly bought scirocco 1.4, the car is nice but i think not as powerful as polo gti right? If I order polo gti today, what date you expect I can get it? The Polo GTI interior is different compared to the Golf GTI purely by the difference of leather seats and the fabric tartan seats which follows the original design of the Golf GTI MK1. In terms of power, the Golf GTI's pull and burst of speed at the higher ranges will be felt a lot more due to the 2.0 engine. At 0-100 the Polo will give the Golf a good run but once at higher speeds, will tend to lose out already. |

QUOTE(kuekwee @ Sep 15 2011, 05:38 PM) I hate sunroof, kind of useless for me. How about build quality of tsi and gti? My main concern is quality. Built quality is the same, both come from the same factory in Wolfsburg except for a small batch of GTI's which did come from the South Africa factory. Go and test drive both and sit in both and you will see the similarities |

QUOTE(tifosi2401 @ Sep 15 2011, 10:47 PM) I think my scirocco hv some problems n i appreciate if any of you can shed some light abt it. Earlier i got a few errors when i started my car. First the car would not start and the MFD indicated ESP error and ABS error. Called the roadside assistance and they said it might be electronic failure but as tomorrow is a public holiday they advised to leave the car and tow on saturday morning. What you have experienced when you mentioned much less underpowered is that your car went into limp mode. Basically it is a fail safe measure and the car cuts off the turbos/supercharger (if yours it the 1.4). Send it in to the workshop ASAP and don't drive it too much. Could be a faulty part. After abt 30 mins i tried to start the car but then the ESP error was shown on MFD and the steering indicator light was on. There was no ABS error though. However the car did manage to start. Called the roadside assistance again and was referred to VW technician and he said if the steering indicator was showing wh ESP error it is not advisable to drive the car bcos the power steering is faulty. He said the same thing i.e. Leave the car at the current location (mandarin oriental car park) n tow to service center on saturday. I then called my wife to pick me up but while waiting for her i went through the car manual and followed the troubleshooting guide i.e. Turn the steering back n forth if the steering indicator was on. Lo n behold both ESP n steering lock disappeared. I proceeded to drive the car back home but it felt much less underpowered and the car just sounded different...rougher and it felt sluggish. However there was no error indicators throughout my drive home. I turned off n on a few times when i reached my house n there seemed to be no problems. Any of you ever experienced the same like me before? I will definitely send the car to the service center on saturday but it would be great if you can share abt your experience or any assistance that you can offer. The worst thing is i need to be in kertih on monday for work and i already am in enough stress and pressure with all the deadlines and tonnes of outstanding work so this episode today really gives me more headache. Haiya.... Nway thx in advance for your help Cheers mate! |

QUOTE(tifosi2401 @ Sep 15 2011, 11:49 PM) Ouuhh no wonder it behaved that way earlier. Yeah i dont hv the confidence to drive the car till i send to the workshop. It feels different n unsafe. Yeah basically just get a warranty claim, although you might not have the use of your car depending on the issue and how long it takes for them to resolve it. So keep that in mind.Googled VW esp error earlier and seems like it's a common problem in the Us/Europe VW forum and most of the times it was due to faulty ABS pump. Hope VW wont make any fuss if i need to make a warranty claim for whatever parts that need to be replaced be it ABS pump or any other parts. N yup you guessed rite...my car is the 1.4 scirocco. |

QUOTE(kuekwee @ Sep 16 2011, 10:54 AM) I got one question to ask, what's the offset rim for golf 16". Just make a booking golf now want to order sport rim from japan Offset 45, more details here.http://www.myturbodiesel.com/1000q/wheels/...llery-5x112.htm I have seen a Golf with rims offset 40 and it looks quite nice. QUOTE(Travies @ Sep 16 2011, 12:33 PM) Beats me, probably they have a deal with Castrol in some sense. I know Porsche recommends Mobil 1 but in Europe, their anti competition laws are quite strict so over there they have a huge variety of engine oil to choose from. I know for my service center, I get Castrol TZT. |

QUOTE(ruffstuff @ Sep 19 2011, 12:25 AM) Can anyone confirm there is new Polo variant (Polo sport 1.2tsi) release for malaysian market? I know there is the new Polo GTI, but there is also photos of Polo Sport 1.2 spreading around. Yes the Polo sport is going to be around RM5k more expensive from the normal Polo. I saw the pricelist at Wearnes already. I think the extra stuff it comes with the Polo Sport is worth the extra RM5k |

QUOTE(stalkerrox @ Sep 19 2011, 02:12 PM) I know the Americans love to slam their rides. Some even having just a couple of centimeter clearance for the bumpers. I guess they can do it where their roads don't have that many speed humps unlike ours. Then again, it does look rather ugly hahaha! |
