Hey wondering about you guys owning 2x

How serious are these issues affect Current batch of the 2x?

up to date there is number of bugs with the software and hardware

Software
- Auto Reboot
- Hangs
- slowness
- unresponsive

this will be fix with future lg update . if u cant wait just flash custom rom biggrin.gif

Hardware
- IPS yellow bleed screen

edit: read post above

seems like this phone need to use usb charger + custom rom to even perform normally.. Not really suitable if just want to buy and use it vanilla?

@dk999,
If you set your expectation right, (affordable smartphone which can do most of your stuff on normal phone + play game + online stuff : fb,tweet, browse, etc & battery require daily recharge (what do you expect, big nice screen will drain major of the juice from your 1500mAH battery), then this phone fits the bill.

Phone is good to use as vanilla (v10e), just try either other charger or charge using usb.

If you want more tweaks/features (try custom roms) but if you want all well out of the box, you can try either HTC / Samsung (SGII is quite good, tried if on my friends phone and love it, but it have one problem biggrin.gif battery doesn't last, he got ext battery biggrin.gif)

Well i got this phone when it just launch, that time its value for money and now the price keep dropping (expected since there is more competition)

Just don't expect your phone to last like older generation like few days or a week (i miss the time my old handy phone, last 1 week per charge)

Some O2X users on xda forum have the same problem, even when they already mod their rom with the latest CM rom. It can be a hardware problem, depends on where the batch of the O2X is manufactured. Some batches may be ok, and some not.

My LG Optimus one often freezes and reboots (not during charging).. even with the best custom rom installed (Void).

That's why I'm afraid to upgrade to this O2X.. The potential risks doesn't seem to justify its cheaper price. LG must to something to repair its image.. rclxub.gif

Agree, sometimes it still depends on your luck to get one phone without problem, so far LG's impression for me, nice spec on phone for that price but they REALLY need to fix up their software & Quality Control, especially on the charger. Imagine if everyone got GOOD working charger from the start, we wont be facing all those hassle when it screw up the phone or a decent rom like current v10e from start biggrin.gif

the best answer to your question of whether to get this phone or not is:

if u r in a tight budget (say...around RM1100-1200) and want a dual core phone with great screen, then there's no question the O2X beats all the phones within that price range. i'm sure the newer batch had their hardware problems fixed, using froyo roms won't have any problems, because previously i'm also using froyo and it's very stable apart from after a long time of usage without restart (1-2 weeks), it'll get laggy. A simple restart will fix it. The worst part of this phone is LG seems to have forgotten to update it to gingerbread. That's why we are all using custom gingerbread roms, which NONE of them so far are 100% stable or bug free.

if u have more money to spend (say around RM1800-2000) and is in a hurry to buy, then get the SGS2, there are no other phones in that price range that trumps it (SenQ selling RM1899 ori)

if u are not in a hurry and have a budget around 2k then wait for the Galaxy Nexus, it's just around the corner

this is serious problem,

only Paul's 4.0.0.5 Clockworkmod doesn't have vibrate non stop issue,

other versions older or latest, it makes my phone vibrates all the time during clockworkmod recovery mode,

this issue has been addressed for so many times but there's still no solution?

I couldnt stay 4.0.0.5 because couldn't flash later versions of CM7,
it will bootloop even on fresh flash,

last night want to flash cm7 build 180, I've to let my phone keep vibrating when flashing phone for long time, and now the phone inside smell some kind of motor overheat smell,

scare one day will fry my phone if vibrates more by using recover menu... -.-

is there really no solution for this issue at all?????????

bb 725 works well but you must also make sure you have a matching ril (download getril from market and it will tell if it matches it)

Depends on how you use it, if you set it to downclock, means it uses less battery, then yes it help increase bettery life, if you use to overclock, then nope, it drain more battery but you have better performance phone biggrin.gif

Does anyone knows if the O2X uses the same USB charger as the OptimusONe? The charger works well on my OptimusOne, maybe will it work fine on the O2X as well?

A dual-core phone priced at RM1,108 (celcom contract), its quite irresistable. But the risks of having a lemon phone is very daunting. Or maybe I should opt for SGS Plus (RM968), less powerful but more stable.. hmm.gif

Why this thread is so becoming inactive?
tongue.gif

Anyway, I tested the O2X at mobile store yesterday, and from the phone settings, it appears that O2X got External SD Card, Internal SD Card & phone storage. The phone storage is small (less than 2GB). Whats the difference between Internal SD Card & phone storage?

Since some apps/games installation requires a big chunk of internal phone storage (instead of using SD card), so does it means that it doesn't have that much capacity of internal phone storage? rclxub.gif

BTW, this is a piece of news regarding LG (10 hours ago)..

Come on LG, release that GB (ICS perhaps!) update on O2X ASAP, no wonder your sales drop so badly! shocking.gif

Good to heard that LG been struggling in their phone division, thats what they get with their attitude and poor support towards their products.

Regards on phone memory, which is refer to ROM size is where apps and games installed to. While internal storage is to keep games data files which i think very insufficient. But of course you can use it as storage for media content which i think most ppl prefer external SD aka microSD.

Btw Shadowgun released today and the graphic is freakin awesome. smile.gif
