I'm a O2X user for nearly a month now. Not quite happy though. My phone suffers from rebooting and overheating problem. Besides my battery life is quite short too. So I've decided to send my set for warranty, but still just don't have the free time. Just wanna ask you guys, if I send it for warranty, how long I have to wait for replacement? I heard if the problem is software related they will only repair my phone, and if its hardware related it will take a week. Is that true?

Guys, I've updated to GB V20E version. I've installed CWM Recovery too, because I needed it to root my phone. After that I've decided to check for update again via LG Mobile Updater, and it said there was a newer update (I guess it was for updating to V20L, I'm not sure sweat.gif ). But while updating it said "software update is not supported for this model". After some searching in xda I found this post:
QUOTE
Do you have CWM Recovery installed?

If you do, that's the problem because the LG updater can't reboot the phone properly if it has a custom recovery installed.

You should flash a stock rom using SmartFlash tool and then use the LG updater.

So what should I do now?

I'm thinking of flashing the rom from this link by using CWM, instead of using LG updater, because to use LG updater I need to flash the phone via Smartflash, which will wipe all my data off the phone. CWM won't do that right? rclxub.gif

My first custom rom is Thanatos' old rom and has been using it nearly 3 weeks now. While on stock rom the maximum battery lifespan I had was around 14 hours with 3g off all time. But with the custom rom? Well, I'm fairly happy with it tongue.gif

As you can see I used wifi more, but when I'm not on wifi? 3G all the way, no more switch to 2g icon_rolleyes.gif

For those who don't mind trying out custom roms. Give this a try

[ROM] 20111231 | Gueste2X v2.1 / v2.2 RC3 Golden Hybrid (LG 2.3-GB v20M/E/O) Link

I've tried running on this rom and summary/feedback for this rom

1. Good on battery
2. FD (fast dormancy is gone)
3. v20o solves the problem with the unstable signal (my phone now no longer lost signal and it seem that LG has fix this issue in their v20m/v20o beta release
4. Comes with custom kernal that works with tethering and more battery friendly compares to other roms i tried earlier (maybe because other roms is based on earlier versions)
5. More memory available

P/S: charge your phone to 100% before flashing, after flashing charge full again & do battery calibration. This helps biggrin.gif

I don't know where I read it, but I think this rom use ext3 right?

@wulfredz

What is the difference between these 2 spica's works?

I think the first one is the modded kernel, what about the 2nd one? Still a noob here tongue.gif

bro wulfredz la should start a new one tongue.gif

Just flashed with the new Thanatos rom, but got several annoying bugs liao:

a) Twlauncher keep crashing.
b) Cannot receive incoming call. The caller said my phone is engaged.

Anybody know what's the solution? Have installed the matching RIL using GetRIL but still not solved. Cannot post in xda thread, my post number still not enough to post in development thread tongue.gif

Right now I'm gonna wipe everything and reflash. If still got problem I'm gonna try Gueste rom smile.gif

Pros, I just flashed Gueste's rom, and then I tried to flash the v20m 725 baseband. But when I press confirm installation, the script say:

installing update...
installing aborted...

why did it directly aborted? hmm.gif

Everything else seem perfect though, I can receive SMS and incoming calls.

It has been a month plus, but hell LG doest even updated us with neither v20L or v20m, wtf with LG...  ohmy.gif

I never think of that after I started playin with customs tongue.gif But yeah its really weird, as it is those independent developers who have given us the latest roms, and not LG themselves. Y'know, the developers work for free ffs, what's LG's doin huh?

Oh, its post 2500 dy biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

if u check the source codes, u will notice that alot of the codes which were modified were only done by the select few of programmers.. hmm.gif

Yeah I think the same too. Based on my reading it seems like many of those xda contributors are just like a compiler (am I using the correct word? laugh.gif ), looking for the best combination of recipes from these codes. As a result, there are just a few of innovative ideas. But I can live with that. At least the've been more productive than LG thumbup.gif

I suggest Gueste2X v2.2
battery can last for 3 days 10h and still have 36% , light usage.

You're using which kernel?

I went to their Kelana Jaya office. They changed the board inside. I had 2 probs: reboot and overheating, both resolved after RMA smile.gif
