Bro jenn77, maybe you can burn your wallet (small hole only) since apart from the Stanley Kubrick collection mentioned in earlier posts on offer at Amazon CA for CND56.99, Amazon UK also offers at GBP24.99 only. Now problem is which one to buy, the CA has 9 films while the UK has only 7 films but is much cheaper based on per disc price. Buyer's dilemma! rclxub.gif Any suggestions?

Looks good

I like travel documentaries

Bro, watch d...pls review ya

Finish watching India, it do adventures on purpose, it is more on culture & believe. Do worth watching, you gain more knowledge on specific country certain area (they not show the whole India). If you plan to use it as travel guide, then this is not your expectation.
I also watch half part of Egypt, too tired, so went to sleep already.

The Film: 4 Star.
PQ: I rank 3.5 to 4 Star. (It look nice, and scenery shoot is pretty decent, but I can't said it is extreme gorgeous transfer).
Narrated: 5 Star (Richard Bang's is a great narrator.)
Special Effect: The special effect where half frame fast movement is annoying, lucky it only appear in every film beginning 5 mins.

** I will continue grab another left out country. smile.gif

Thanks, Andrew but maybe I'll go for UK edition since read lots of complaints on US edition (I think the CA edition the same) where the discs can be easily scratched because of the packaging. Also the UK edition is much cheaper by about RM70 which is a lot for a pensioner! Maybe saves space also since they come in flip style casing. Anyway, hope later can get Spartacus and Dr.Stranglove during cheap, cheap sale. Meanwhile can watch my DVD copies loh.

The packaging - I don't have any issue on such Digipak style. I got US Edition of Star Wars, Spartacus: Blood and Sand and etc - all same type packaging. (US often use this type of packaging for a series). Flip style casing won't slimmer than this type of digipak. (Check for example Star Wars, it is slightly bulky than US edition)

I dunno why they all can scratch it, BD is not easier get scratch unless you on purpose. Sometimes when you see some line like scratch, it is not, use soft clothes wipe it and the line will be gone, that is dusk not a scratch line.

Cheaper RM 70 but do remember it missing 2 film, which means it not cheap at all. RM 70 for 2 titles is dirt cheap, only around USD $11 per title.

i own the US VERSION of STANLEY KUBRICK collection, actually the packing is very nice looking, it also come with a nice booklet with hard cover. thumbup.gif

However, the packing is not pratical & user friendly, unlike STARWARS & SPARCATUS BLOOD & SAND, STANLEY KUBRICK SET is very difficult to pull out the disc. rclxub.gif

What i do is i take out all disc & keep it separately in a CD file, display net to the box set.

It is not logic to miss 2 film, forget about the $, don't go for AMAZ UK version. rclxub.gif

It worst than Spartacus: Blood and Sand? from sample picture, it look quite identical. The Spartacus: Blood and Sand is extremely over tight and hard to pull out as well.

And yes, I also agree no logic for getting the Amazon UK set, it is not a big different in amount, and I had a feeling it non complete where 2 film is missing, each film only cost around USD $ 11, I doubt you hardly get that price for separation purchase of that two film. Beside this, don't forget it gorgeous packaging of US / Canada set.

yup, it is a lot more difficult than SPARCATUS.

besides, after few time of oulling it out & pushing it back, the paper made bookcase also starting to loose 7 might get broken soon. so, it actually "looks" better than "use"

with the AMZ US/CANADA boxset & add 2 more CRITERION COLLECTION - PATH OF GLORY & THE KILLING, u actually can own STANLEY KUBRICK LIFE TIME WORK. thumbup.gif

I WILL TRTY TO POST SOME PIC FOR U TONIGHT
