hmmm... one of the attractions of buying these series on bd is the supplementary features that come with the movies, so this is definitely a no-no for me. I also heard the one with jammed-pack features (which will be release later this year) will be the one with 3D. Well, if you don't want the 3D i guess you can still watch it in 2D... but will the price still be ridiculously high then; knowing there is no non-3D special-feature release? 

The current trend of 7.1 mixes is encouraging. Thor, pirates and now this. Hope it continues.

I tested Thor's 7.1 yesterday. The bass effects were loud but I did not feel the depth that I expected to get with the mix. Checking around in AVS forums reveals that this mix is 20Hz high pass filtered! What an utter waste! This could have been a fantastic mix, but we end up with a muted soundtrack.
