Just recently bought a BD player and purchase a few BD that I know would be unbelievable to watch in HD. I dont know whether this topic has been discuss before or not but again.... its good to refresh something up, right?
So why dont we list down 10 or more movie that definitely worth every money that we spent for. So far, ive only watch a few and this is my top 10 movie you should not miss to watch in BD: 1. Avatar. 2. Transformer DOTM (still waiting for the release). 3. Harry Potter 7 part 2. 4. The Matrix. 5. The Dark Knight. 6. Unknown. 7. Terminator Salvation. 8. Suckerpunch. 9. Lord of the ring trilogy. 10. Wu Xia. |

QUOTE(johnbluraylover @ Sep 20 2011, 04:55 PM) Don't mislead by the title of these series. There are not "Mad" men in the series Genres: Drama. QUOTE Mad Men is set in the 1960s, initially at the fictional Sterling Cooper advertising agency on Madison Avenue in New York City, and later at the newly created firm of Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce. The focal point of the series is Don Draper (Jon Hamm), creative director at Sterling Cooper and a founding partner at Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce, as well as those in his life, both in and out of the office. As such, it regularly depicts the changing moods and social mores of 1960s America. Mad Men has received critical acclaim, particularly for its historical authenticity and visual style, and has won multiple awards, including thirteen Emmys and four Golden Globes. It is the first basic cable series to win the Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama Series, winning it in 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011. QUOTE Mad Men has received highly positive critical response since its premiere. ... A New York Times reviewer called the series groundbreaking for "luxuriating in the not-so-distant past." The San Francisco Chronicle called Mad Men "stylized, visually arresting [...] an adult drama of introspection and the inconvenience of modernity in a man's world". A Chicago Sun-Times reviewer described the series as an "unsentimental portrayal of complicated 'whole people' who act with the more decent 1960 manners America has lost, while also playing grab-ass and crassly defaming subordinates." The reaction at Entertainment Weekly was similar, noting how in the period in which Mad Men takes place, "play is part of work, sexual banter isn't yet harassment, and America is free of self-doubt, guilt, and countercultural confusion." The Los Angeles Times said that the show had found "a strange and lovely space between nostalgia and political correctness". The show also received critical praise for its historical accuracy – mainly its depictions of gender and racial bias, sexual dynamics in the workplace, and the high prevalence of smoking and drinking. QUOTE(pAnGuInDa @ Sep 21 2011, 11:10 AM) Transformers: Dark of the Moon review is out on HidefDigest. hmmm... one of the attractions of buying these series on bd is the supplementary features that come with the movies, so this is definitely a no-no for me. I also heard the one with jammed-pack features (which will be release later this year) will be the one with 3D. Well, if you don't want the 3D i guess you can still watch it in 2D... but will the price still be ridiculously high then; knowing there is no non-3D special-feature release? Link I wonder how many people will get that cause it was a bare bones edition But the 7.1 TrueHD is very tempting |
