Don't mislead by the title of these series.  There are not "Mad" men in the series    and it is not talking about "Mad' guy either.  Mad Men could mean those men in  Madison Avenue. Short form of Madison Avenue men. In my opinion, Advertisement men or Adv men    is more appropriate.
