DIY, use a think pen knife (with those one inch blades) and carefully and slow cut away...
The net you can buy from hardware shops, just make sure the holes are small enuff to stop small leaves and stuff, but big enuff to not restrict air...

Or find an accessories shop that is friendly with you, ask if they have the "air-cutter blade" (which uses compressed air) or electrical mechanical cutter blade to cut it for you...

EDIT: You can try William JE Auto ma... since you so buddy with him...

Of course, there are way more stuff that can be done to the car... but i let my pleasure level diminish (and warranty expires) to start looking at ECU reflash, CAI open pod, port polishing, exhaust system....  drool.gif  drool.gif
*
I havent been to JE in ages...biggrin.gif....but you are rite, let me go bug him again...tks...i dont believe in my own skills to cut it.....

i YAM still confused...0 is highest, 5 is lowest?? The switch can press 5 different position?? SO everytime you restart car, it goes back to default position or stick to your last position???
*
U leave the switch at 1, it will remain as 1. For me, the level 0 - 4, is just to adjust the level. No matter wat, ur original height of the beam will be 0. So if u manually adjust your light before, then that will be 0. It won't automatic adjust to another height at 0. Cause after I install it, the 0 i notice is my beam height that I adjusted before. That's just mt 2 cents la.

>< actually I feel the switch abit not worth buying if you don't install HID headlights. Hid headlights only need to adjust to prevent direct your lights on opposite cars. No offence to those who bought/ wants to buy. I'm just saying ><~
*
NO need hid. My philips XP also can blind ppl lio if too high.

Ya true but if our current light position like that is not purposely de ma right? >< ~ but install jor lights switch comfirm adjust any higher also will hit ppl's eye edi.
*
With the switch, we can control it n use under specific instances ma. Rather than cannot ctrl at all. Eg. My 0 is quite high, so I always use 1. But I turn to 0 if the stretch of road is very dark to have a longer beam, iso using high beam.

oh..no need to cut anything right?

im a disaster when it comes to DIY.

when u plug in ur switch, it is in '0' position?
*
yeah, default is 0. if i am not wrong, ur original height will always be 0. the 1234 will just bring the level down a notch. but i cannot 100% cfm la, thats what i feel when i see mine.

What if I set the switch to position 2 then only plug in? Does it mean I can move 2 levels higher and the motor will follow go higher? Will it stop when it reaches max height? Can you try the below...

1) Set to Position 0..
2) Unplug the switch..
3) Set to Position 2..
4) Replug the switch...
5) Move the Position to 0, see it can move up higher?

Thanks.
*
Will try if hv time later. But theoretically, if u put 2, it will move 2 notch down when it's started.

The X-Files... remains open....

So guys who changed HU still have this issue? Nevermind, let Clarion crack their head first figuring how to solve. If I tell them change HU also have this issue, then they will wash hands... I have asked them if changing longer antenna will solve the issue but they say they tried but not much improvement. Let me figure out where the wire runs.. could be running near the air cond motor causing magnetic interference... If you google, you will see that our problem is not isolated, lancers in other countries experience the same thing even with their premium HU.

Fremont change to Sony?? What horn did you change to? How much? Poison... poison...
*
i just change to a Bosch horn la..RM 90.....need to use relay to power up the horn, but it sure sounds louder, as i can hear it clearly inside the car, compared to the stock horn....

main intention is to scare the shit out of motorbikes that come too near, as well as those ppl who do not believe in brakes or hand brakes during traffic lights smile.gif

Sony never buy yet la.....still considering...

Ok, for the headlamp switch...i tested.....

i took it out at 0, turn off engine, then unplugged it. turn it to 2, then plugged it in, and turn on engine. The light will automatically go down.......turn off engine again, unplug switch, and turn on engine with switch unplugged. the light will stay at the position....plug in again at 4 this time, turn on engine...the light will shine lower once started....

so.....basically, the switch just instructs the gear to go down or go up, by notches.....if no switch, it will remain at that level.....hope this helps

Interesting....!! That means there is a logic board at the headlamp to save the setting based on the switch setting....
Now the headlamp is worth the RM1700++ asking price....

So, irregardless, to achieve the maximum throw of the headlamps, you must set it to the highest before plug in switch, and this will be the default 0.... and then you can only move the headlamp down....

Thus, your normal preferred height shld be set at 2... so that you can still move up to improve the throw distance (to the highest 0).. no??

So for those who have installed the switch but not adjusted it upwards, how come they felt that the lamp can go higher than default 0 when plug in?? Or izzit a placebo effect??

Added on July 21, 2011, 10:05 pm
Nope, the switch have 5 setting input, the headlamp have a logic board to determine which height is 0 - 5 based on the input from the switch...
*
well, if i set to 2 before i plug in, then plug in, the lights will go down automatically already....
