QUOTE(sleepy @ Jun 14 2012, 05:14 PM) Fantastic. So means you would've chosen the Jazz over the Q7 Well, I would like to comment.Btw I hope you realise that NCAP requirement changes from year to year. A Peugeot 407 obtained 5 stars in 2009, but by today's standards it would've gotten probably 4 stars or less if they were to re-evaluate it today. So stars varying from year to year is still "scientifically proven safer"? NCAP is just a technique test of accident occur very directive. which they never test speed exceed certain level. eg. 40miles or 60 miles knock on wall. in real life. you might be facing some diff situation. of course better safety features is better. you nvr know when you will need it. that why it call accident we can't expect when it will happen |

QUOTE(cybermaster98 @ Jun 17 2012, 12:32 PM) Our petrol is so cheap? What are u comparing against? Our fuel is AMONG THE MOST EXPENSIVE IN THE WORLD if u compare dollar to dollar. We export our good quality fuel while we use the crap quality locally polluting our environment and endangering our lives more. if not mistaken, euro standard diesel is B5 or B10 In Germany for instance, i was shocked to see diesel costing about E$1.40 while petrol (Euro 5) costs about E$1.60. If ure living there and earning in euros, thats quite cheap. true also if compare car price.......instead comparing fuel price our junior Engineer salary 3k ringgit = camry car price 182k = fuel 1.9 ringgit / liter Euro junior engineer salary 3k euro = camry car price 28k euro = fuel 2.30 euro / gallon how long can we use extra 80k for fuel if without subsidise and also car without tax let say we use 1k per month - 50% we current paying even subsidize = 160 months hahahahaha......... the laugh still goes to government |

QUOTE(zweimmk @ Jun 18 2012, 11:45 AM) I went for a test drive at VW earlier for the new Passat. I said already. I will 100% go for passat no time. Comparatively speaking, the Passat interior is nicer. I love how the brush aluminium look compared to the faux wood panels. NVH is quite good also. The downside is the semi-electric seats compared to the fully electric seats found in the camry. Another downside is the rear seats as well, the huge bump in the middle vs the flat panel floor of the Camry. The middle passenger will suffer. Materials and finishing is very good. Definitely feels more premium compared to the Japanese. Interior space is definitely 1up for the Camry, the Passat still feels smaller in comparison. Even my wife says the same thing, the overall spaciousness is better in the Camry compared to the Passat. Likes: - Brake assist feature - Hill hold feature - Airbags, lots of them - Premium feel - Power. The engine feels very lively - NVH feels good, certainly sounds quiet while on the go. Dislikes: - The CKD unit feels a bit creaky, there was some sound coming from the dashboard. I don't know if its because the car is a demo unit or something else - The rear passenger middle bump. Although common in RWD, I really wish it was a little lower - Rear luggage space is good, but I wish it had more depth instead of being more lengthy. Definitely will take the new Camry later this week for a test drive and then decide where I plan to go from then |

QUOTE(kadajawi @ Jun 18 2012, 06:27 PM) You could (almost) just as well pay off a Passat. Resale value... maybe not 100% as good as the Camry, but I thought VW is picking up steam. I see more and more Tourans on the road, lots of Polo, Jetta and a few Passat. I think for a Conti it is doing quite well. ipoh got lots of passat coming. my house along the Goh motors road. today seeing 8 passats on delivery to their happy owner |

QUOTE(zweimmk @ Jun 19 2012, 05:38 AM) No la, I was focused on the 2.0G spec version because the difference between that and the Passat about 20k. I decide on the car based on what I'm comfortable paying each month and the length of loan. For all intents and purposes, I consider the 2.0G version is great as a stop-gap measure because the loan is only 3 years and once the warranty is over, I can just move on to something better rather than take a lengthy 7 year loan if I were to buy say an Audi A4 or 3 series F10. I was thinking the other way around. maybe add 20k more for current prius / k5 to get the passat The 2.5V spec was never under my consideration because I simply do not think it's worth taking a 5 year loan for an overpriced under-specced car like that. And now I just realized, the 2.5V spec is only about 5k or so more expensive compared to the Passat. In any case, I want to avoid taking a 5 year loan and instead keep it to 3 or 4. With the Passat or Camry 2.5V, I have to still stick to a 5 year loan if I don't want to top up my down payment. instead getting regret in 3-5 years time. 4 years need repayment about 3.2k month |

QUOTE(zweimmk @ Jun 19 2012, 08:58 AM) My maximum is RM2200 per month. Not a penny more. I'm comfortable paying up to 4 years, ideally 3 and I don't want to go 5 if I can help it. I went for a 2nd test drive with the Passat at Cergaz, my first drive was at FA Wagen. That dashboard creaking sound is still there ;( Build quality issue or is it something else? QUOTE(kevin23 @ Jun 19 2012, 09:06 AM) Get the new camry, saw it on the road and it looks awesome. The passat is a good car but in terms of uncle-ness, its worst than the camry and it has a very boring design. inside no uncle liao. |

QUOTE(NissanTeana @ Jun 21 2012, 02:05 PM) Dude, don't ever buy something that you don't like or hate it so much, if you like Passat, just get it, don't care about the GB, like I like the Teana, and first scare the GB as well, but after getting the car, totally love it, no regret. Just go for it dude. cant agree more.since the car are 100k. you will careless about resell value. others might in your consideration else. if you like, just buy it. |

QUOTE(cybermaster98 @ Jun 22 2012, 03:30 AM) Buy a car and sell within 3 years? But never try and convince yourself about a car. If you gut feel says this car isnt for you then dont buy it. But you gotta make sure your criteria is right first. Not everybody will have the same criteria but generally there are alot of similarities. For me safety, value for money, design and comfort are important. Then comes warranties and after sales service. For me the Kia Optima K5 satifies most (if not all) the factors above. I spend alot of time researching cars long before a particular model is launched and after that i spent extensive time test driving. For your info, i test drove the Optima 9 times before buying. You may have a different opinion but this is what i think anyway. Cheers! i also buy car and sell around 2-3 years. if car i like then i keep. dun like then i sell. 12 years i working been change 7 car liao |
