I guess I look like a water fish to the contractor, below is the conversation between him and I:
C: how's your consideration of the offer?
I: I will engage other contractor to do the work for me.
C: why?
I: the price is quite high.
C: I propose that you installs back to back, I can re quote accordingly.
I: no need already.
C: May be we can negotiate the price.
I: no need already la. You cannot compete one.
C: how much is the offer?
I: 4 to 5k like that lor.
C: 4k impossible la, 5k plus may be can do la (WTF, want to cheat 3k at least on the first quote) shocking.gif
I: WA... Two to there k different wor.... hmm.gif  hmm.gif
C: previously what I quote is Hitachi brand piping, the highest end for the air con piping, may be we can use the middle range piping.
I: no need already la, I decided to install after I get the key.
C: don't decide first, let's compare the price, you give me his quotation then may be I can quote you cheaper leh, but you must let me installs for you la... Some more if do it later the finishing not nice one. (cilaka, can't cheat me this time and think of cheat me next time)
I: ok la, let's see how la... (impossible to let him do the work, big buaya)
C: ok, thanks

So guys, get more information from the forumers here, at least you have the bullets to nego with the contractor. thumbup.gif

On going development at sitiawan by dkls, then the contractor is the only authorized contractor that can do the air con work for us... so I need to deal with the contractor if I need to installs the drain pipe and copper pipe during construction is on going.... otherwise I need to wait till I get the key after completion then only can installs the piping lo... My idea is to minimize the hacking work LO...

not dare to ask him to do the work for me LO... Told him I will use all inverter air con.... Then he quote a sky high price for me lo... Which can deduct 40% when he knew that he got no chance to earn my money...

Guys.. ask ur opinion..

2 contractors quoted me different price.
(inverter type + conceal 0.61mm copper + conceal pvc drain pipe + hacking)

items:
2hpX1
1.5hpX3

1. one quote me . 2.3k lump sum
2. another one quote me . 3k lump sum (certified air con installer)

1st guy refused to give me a quotation list. Said he have a lot of experience installing air-con. 14 years. Recommended by the shop that I bought air con from.

2nd guy is a certified air con installer. Normally did those high rise buildings. He only recommend best of the best material. Initially he quote me 4.2k for everything. He include insurance coverage in the bill as well. He will later breakdown the cost and air con installation diagram to me. He told me their way of doin stuff are totally diff than uncertified installer. They follow strict guideline from those association. If wrong, they may lose their license. Means ada standard.

Now, I need to choose. In dilemma now.

I was being quoted:
1) 2HP x 1 = 30 ft
2) 1HP x 3 = 80 ft

Total RM2.2k. Including copper piping, PVC water pipe, conceal and install without piping. Is the above reasonable?

Thank you

might be on the high side...
i was quoted below formula:
2HP: install conceal w 8ft Cu = RM380, Cu pipe RM13/ft
1HP: install conceal w 8ft Cu = RM280, Cu pipe RM10/ft
Water pipe some may add RM100+ since run a long distance (but already considered overprice)
Install Aircon ~50-100/unit?

Can anyone PM me a good aircon contractor to do the following:

1) Relocate 2 aircons (need to dismantle from one place and install at another place)

2) Install a new aircon

And is around PJ area.

Thanks.
