Ya true.
My main contractor also charge me RM600 for 1.0 HP inverter conceal copper pipe and outlet pipe.
But I planned to install only 2 of them because it needs some coordination with the living room extension.
*
so u let ur main con to conceal for the 2 air cond piping?

Ya,
he quoted me 1.0 HP x 3 (RM600) and 2.0HP x 2 (RM650) all inverter.
both concealed copper pipe and outlet pipe.
and he assume worst case scenario like putting the aircon in the middle wall instead of back-to-back.

actually he just quoted me, but if back-to-back installation he said just ask the aircon shop to do it for free.

Because my living room hasn't extended now that i plan to put the aircon compressor at top of the car porch instead of in front of the main door (too hot later all the wind blow in all the hot air), and the ground floor living room is in the middle of the houseplan (probably more than 15 feet) with affected plaster ceiling and etc.
So better ask him to do it, it need lot of coordination and correct timing.
the rest master bedroom, bedroom 2 and 3 just need back to back.

If 1.0HP better avoid too far, max 10 feet.

I think 15 feet a bit too far for 1.0HP.
Probably go for 1.5HP for safety?

Master bedroom upstairs. The developer gave 15 amp wiring and PVC pipe but never give copper wiring. I extended the room so the everything kelam kabut. Now decided cheaper to just extend the developer 15 amp point to the window (conceal) and the air cond pasang like biasa. The developer pipe potong and just plaster.

I guess I look like a water fish to the contractor, below is the conversation between him and I:
C: how's your consideration of the offer?
I: I will engage other contractor to do the work for me.
C: why?
I: the price is quite high.
C: I propose that you installs back to back, I can re quote accordingly.
I: no need already.
C: May be we can negotiate the price.
I: no need already la. You cannot compete one.
C: how much is the offer?
I: 4 to 5k like that lor.
C: 4k impossible la, 5k plus may be can do la (WTF, want to cheat 3k at least on the first quote) shocking.gif
I: WA... Two to there k different wor.... hmm.gif hmm.gif
C: previously what I quote is Hitachi brand piping, the highest end for the air con piping, may be we can use the middle range piping.
I: no need already la, I decided to install after I get the key.
C: don't decide first, let's compare the price, you give me his quotation then may be I can quote you cheaper leh, but you must let me installs for you la... Some more if do it later the finishing not nice one. (cilaka, can't cheat me this time and think of cheat me next time)
I: ok la, let's see how la... (impossible to let him do the work, big buaya)
C: ok, thanks

So guys, get more information from the forumers here, at least you have the bullets to nego with the contractor. thumbup.gif
