So, is it worth it grabbing the R instead of the S II? Perhaps it is if your budget is strictly limited, but for $50 more or so, you can get the very best Samsung currently has to offer. Do not get us wrong, the Galaxy R is still one great smartphone, but the relatively small price difference between it and the company's flagship does not seem to be justified.

samsung i9103 galaxy R display is gorilla glass. i confirmed it from the samsung outlet. <<<(still not sure)

1) Display quality is fine . But it is not scratch resistant .

2) DLNA is ok , but very few tv's have DLNA support . HDMI/ tv-out mirroring is something else and is useful to have

Got Samsung galaxy R 2 days back, Its a superb phone
Pros:
1.It has premium built quality
2.it has nice screen very vivid and brilliant display
3.Gorilla glass
4.The Tegra 2 GPU is way above Exynos GPU of S2,games are to be played in Galaxy R since it flows like water.
Cons:
1.Battery life is weak with 2g/3g connectivity(8 hrs with moderate usage)
2.No Divx playback(still not a big issue)
3.Back cover gets heated often.
4.Camera very poor in lowlight conditions.

Its defenitely worth the money sure.... its little brother to S2 no doubt.

Even though Galaxy R display cannot match Amoled display, It still is very good.
Its very bright and daylight visibility is very good.



1. The display glass is real good. Iam not sure if it is Gorilla or not.

2. The device can connect with DLNA certified devices like new TV's and broadcast gallery contents.

Thats very difficult to find out the Manufacturers of the components.
Majority of the components are made in East asian and south east asian countries.

all that taken memory is for the system! it's called "8gb" but actually it's 3.7 that's left for the user.

Looks like this device has no TV-out or HDMI .
Neither does it have Gorilla glass

Of course the prices have reduced, and you can buy it.

1.it does support 3g video calls. but not sure about vide chat thru skype,gmail.
2.None of the websites confirm the phone has gorilla glass. But of personal experience, the glass is almost gorilla like. it doesnt even come with a screen guard.
3. its a younger brother of Galaxy S 2.

My wife bought this phone a week back and as the guinea pig, i've been using it for a week now. Bought it for Rs.24k in India
As a scaled down version of the SGS2, this phone's solid.
If not for the LCD display, i'd say, for the price, its a bloody marvelous phone.
However, i am really pissed off about the fact that Samsung continues to ignore SGS2 buyers in India with NO update at all after Android 2.3.3 and dumps support for phones 3 months after launch across the world.

Galaxy r is better than galaxy s plus.... And galaxy s plus do not have led flash to take pictures at night.. So go for galaxy r

for me ..if u want to buy 2 of this phone..better buy the Galaxy R because this phone have a good processor and better size and nice beautiful than galaxy s plus..and the price it's worth the use of the product itself .. samsung product best in the world..ha ha ha

I have this phone for 1 week and it's reaally great!!! Everything works perfectly! Just one thing, I have problem with GPS. I installed 3 programs for GPS testing, and all three it is shown that I have 9-10 satellites around more or less all the time and it finds them veeery fast (up to 30sec), but it cannot connect to them-it cannot find my position. The weather is cloudy. I mean, although I have 10satellits for 30minutes, no position... When it was sunny it was better (I guess), but now when it's cloudy I cannot connect at all. Since it finds the satellites, I guess it's a software problem, not hardware. Any suggestions, please? Thnks in advance!

Actually Galaxy R is alot incredible than the HTC Incredible S......you may face reception problems with HTC and the Galaxy lineup is a wonderful series.....i recommend you go for Galaxy R but the Galaxy SII is just a little costlier....so it is even better if you buy the unbeatable SII

already launched in singapore. over priced also. but in terms of gaming, galaxy R is the one to choose.

I think sc-lcd is not bad at all.
It's brighter than super AMOLED+ but black colour looks better in GS2.
Sound is very good.
The departments where it is behind S2 are camera and processing speed(unnoticable) but has better 3D performance
