I remember that with stock Euro 2.3.3 rom (JQ1), I just flashed a cf-root kernel via ODIN and tada!, rooted. I got cf-root kernel package and odin from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=885734

QUOTE(eyedeal @ Oct 7 2011, 07:03 PM) i would like to ask.. is there any different in terms of specifications of samsung tabs 7, 8 or 10 inches? or is it just the screen size that differs.. There are differences between the Tabs than just screen size, check here for more info.and one more thing.. can i use adobe photoshop on samsung tab? can samsung galaxy tab be a touch screen device for photo editing? thanks! http://www.soyacincau.com/2011/10/01/by-th...-tabs-compared/ I was quite surprised to see that the 8.9 is like the 10.1 where it doesn't have a micro-SD slot.. Adobe Photoshop is an app available on Windows PC and Mac OS, right? Is there a non-express version of it available for Android Honeycomb? If no, then no Photoshop on the Tabs then. Can search here for pic/photo editing apps for Android - https://market.android.com/apps/PHOTOGRAPHY |

QUOTE(FoxSeaTiger @ Oct 23 2011, 10:39 PM) So here my question. You need to google a bit more and read up some earlier postings on this forum thread, I think. DXJPC, DXJPE and DXJPI are all stock 2.3 ROMs for SEA.Where can I find compatible 2.3 gingerbread for our region. I found there is no 2.3 for tab in our country yet. For a start, the ODIN-flashable roms can be found here - http://www.samfirmware.com/WEBPROTECT-p1000.htm |

QUOTE(mwtang @ Oct 27 2011, 03:37 AM) HI there, seriously need help here, i read through all the pages, my tab specs:- Just to confirm your chainfire method, did you flash the cf-root kernel TAR file on top of your DXJPE firmware? I don't remember chainfire releasing a cf-root package for DXJPE or DXJPI..baseband P1000DXJPE Kernel 2.6.35.7 se.infra@SEP-52#2 Build GINGERBREAD.DXJPI I tried to root my device using chainfire, everything went smoothly but went i click on the root checker, it says i have no superuser access. Please advise ! Thanks in advance. p/s - am currently downloading DXJPE and DXJPI from samfirmware, thought of trying to flash it. Should I ? Instead of flashing stock DXJPE or DXJPI from samfirmware, why not give Overcome ROM a try? The latest one looks beautiful, runs quick and is as always, pre-rooted and pre-lagfixed. http://p1000.teamovercome.net/?p=1404 And the best thing is, the setup guide is the best!! http://p1000.teamovercome.net/?page_id=64 This post has been edited by kmrdeva: Oct 27 2011, 10:50 AM |

QUOTE(noobie1 @ Oct 28 2011, 01:52 PM) so let say i am on kratos now, if i want to upgrade to overcome 7 series, then i just need to download ROM | 001003-Overcome 7 Series V4.0.0 NoWipe then just flash it? any other thing i should know? Should be just that.. Probably you should backup, then wipe cache and dalvik before applying the zipfile in CWM.Edit : Anyway I think the install script in the zipfile will do cache/dalvik wipe by itself. QUOTE(ashx @ Oct 28 2011, 05:08 PM) Would appreciate if someone post a review on the new OC 7 I'm not really good at doing reviews, but OC7 v4 is a noticeable improvement over Kratos.Smoother operation, beautiful wallpaper and Roboto font, seems a bit better at multitasking than Kratos, battery life about the same and 3G works nicely as before. |

QUOTE(SonnyCooL @ Oct 29 2011, 11:13 PM) u guy very lucky la ...... I'm very careful with regards to background services (I don't treat my Tab like a PC, leaving 20-30 running services enabled) and I stick to really free apps or legit paid apps. No pirated stuff for me because my Tab is rooted and has my personal data on it.my tab always cause me issue, even after i sold it (sold with kratos), now cause more problem .... i need to use stock rom d .... So far, things have been smooth, have not actually had the Tab really hang on me or suddenly die so far. |

Now wondering how to share it to you, do you have an FTP server I can upload to? Or Dropbox, perhaps? PM me if you want..Sometimes, I lost the touch functions on my tab, so I have to switch off the screen with the button to have the touch finctions working again. Anyone got link for KRATOS ? Need to revert back. |
