Maybe u can try T-muso USB DAC PCM2704 v2.

Or GoVibe Mini USB DAC for RM150.
*
It seems that the think have built-in amplifier, so its a bit expensive than the link i gave ? best if there if no built-in amplifier, so that i can perfectly hear the result of my amplifier (by not limiting to the built-in amplifier spec).
Any other recommendation ? (looking for best quality in the best price)

The goVibe seems nice (depends on the review writing), but there is no spec i could found, someone can provide me the link for goVibe Mini USB DAC ?(Spec & purchase link ?)

Link is here : DACport LX Review

T-Muso doesnt have built-in amp. Its a thru and thru DAC. DIY style.

Govibe USB DAC also good for starters.

Dont think it has an amp. If it has, it doesnt make any difference at all. I own a T-Muso and I need a dedicated amp to really drive it.

Good starter for beginners or those with limited budget. Either one is good.

I used both before. Govibe USB DAC mainly for travelling and T-Muso for desktops.

For travelling ? can you describe how different it is ? hm.. seems t-muso is a good one !
may i know yours is worth how much ? (T-muso previously priced RM80, but new ones got better components, at RM120)

Well... myself is building those hi-fi amp (DIY open source), but i can't quite differentiate between normal speaker and those good with nice amp using computer source (don't have high class CD-player). Need to rate my built amp ! rclxm9.gif

Because T-muso DAC is naked, without casing so it's not meant for bringing here and there. Well, u can put it in any candy box with the right size though.

Whereas GoVibe Mini USB DAC has a casing protecting the components inside.

Yah, we are talking about the new GoVibe Mini USB DAC which costs RM150. Actually I'm also kinda interested to know more about the spec of this tiny DAC. biggrin.gif

Travelling as in flying domestically or internationally due to my work.
My audio rig is more towards portable ones.

Last time I used a - not very good source like my mobile and chapalang mp3 player.
So I used Govibe DAC to nourish it.

T-Muso is quite recent (few month) as I need it to temporary replace my office desktop's built-in soundcard when I'm working.
But now I only use it at home as I prefer to listen to my music on my Fuze+cMoyBB.

If you're more for desktop, I would suggest the T-Muso. You better PM the seller as he has a variety of sound choice.

LOL now you're confusing me. Which Govibe DAC are you referring to actually?
I dont have the DAC anymore, sold it.

It should have input output for source and head/earphones.

Come to think of it, I might talking about different Govibe DAC.
Had a meeting just now. Disoriented abit.

Oh the new Mini DAC. No idea. LOL.

RM150 is a good bargain. But better audition first lah. Hard to comment.
As long its better than HippoBox, should be fine.

Well, it depends to personal preference.
Some like everything in one box. Some, like to experiment with multiple sets.

Is this a new version of Go-Vibe USB DAC? Still the same RM240 or is this the RM150 one? hmm.gif

@sheenho
From Jaben Australia <link>:

Product Description
This one's an interesting little gadget.
It's a great sounding USB DAC, fantastic addition to any computer!
The DAC chip is a Burr-Brown PCM2702, a quality chip.
Comes in a nice little box with a USB cable.

Mike's impression on E10.

Super positive review, performing close to the $189 Audinst HUD-MX1; beats the E7 by a mile at the price of $80, it's really hard to pass on the E10. drool.gif

E10 is way more tempting IMO. tongue.gif

A DAC w/o an amp is not really an option. YMMV

Technically, you can still make E10 as part of your experiment since you can connect the line-out to other amps, but I think I get what you mean, and I agree. smile.gif

My post was merely an 'IMO' thing. Hope I didn't offend anybody. notworthy.gif

any good portable DAC/amp around sub RM100?

Hold up, is DAC specifically for computers or is it also for music players like mp3/handphones/ipods etc?

If I have an MP3 player already, is DAC necessary or an amp is enough (to see the diff)?

Pardon my confusion about all this.

lol.... even is was IMO, its OK
E10 was out of my budget ? prefer ONLY DAC (Usually cheaper than those with integrated AMP(on par quality), since i use my amp to do all the job !)

hm... i was something like that also, but now i found it the price at below RM100 doesn't have here.
The one i AM going to get it (this weekend) is RM120 T-muso, with selectable application (gaming, etc) of
T-muso USB DAC
If you want, better PM him instead of post there. (faster response) Going to enjoy my music later.

If I have an amp, and not planning on using other amps, DAC only will be my choice. Plus I could stretch all my budget on DAC and not waste it on an amp that I most probably wont even use.

That said, I will buy a DAC only if I'm in your place. biggrin.gif

Reviews suggest that T-Muso by bro slevin is a great choice, but it would be great if you can try the slightly more expensive Go-Vibe Mini USB DAC b4 buying.
Just my 2 cents. smile.gif

Short answer: No.

Long one: For such a price, your only choice are entry level sound cards. (e.g. the SB Play!) Technically they do have a DAC and probably an amp inside; but it's not the kind that appeals to audiophiles nor does it gives any significant difference to a usual stock on-board.

Even the cheapest of a good DAC costs more than RM100, albeit being close to RM100. To know what kind of price to expect in this (audiophile) world, my advice is to go and look at Fiio products line-up. You can't find anything better but cheaper than theirs.
