IC. Since i'm always on the move, was thinking to get something more portable.

I can see those DAC/AMP combo price is a killer, but than why going for something lower but at the end of the day...change again. RM500-800 maybe I can still dig it out.

Wait...is my budget on the lower end?

Of course that I didn't know your budget since you didn't state it. tongue.gif IMO, everything > 500 is considered as low-mid, and >1000 is around the mid-high part. That's a quite medium budget. If you would like something more portable (lets say a DAC/AMP combo FOR apple devices), it's easily can go over >1k over the price. e.g. Centrance Hifi-M8, Sony PHA-1, PHA-2, V-MODA Verza and more.
On the other hand, I'm considering letting go my HP-P1 <1k, you want it? blush.gif

With below rm1000. Go for Dac with amp function better or go fiio x3k which is a dap +dac/amp?

Fiio x3k seems like real good value for money.

Tested X3 with HD650, I personally do not like it at all. The sound has no strengths that attract me. Even X1 was doing better with its faster and more energetic sound signature, which feel good. X5 has better sound stage in comparison.

I seriously suggest Cayin N6 if you want to skip amp. It is the player that I am looking at now... But costly... sweat.gif

Cayin N6 more than RM2k as I asked around. Kind of dissapointed with Cayin for 2 things;

(1) Crazy asking price. It is more than most headphone. That player is just so small and charge people so high... Siao. shocking.gif
(2) I do not like the looks whistling.gif

But I really love the sound... Even no amp, I cannot find any complains with pair with HD650... Really good.

Since you pairing with HD800, I think you should get at least this Cayin N6 la... I am only using cheapo HD650... Thus cannot afford the good player.

Btw, I found this N6 sound way better than all the DAC/Amp that I tested with my phone as source. That include the C5 and Fiio Kunlun.

It seems there are some hidden secret in the N6, which more than just the lots of op-amp... I do not know what it is... But it certainly sound good and I like it.

Hi guys,

I currently own a iBasso DX50 DAP and I have a Beyerdynamic dt770pro/80ohm and a dt880pro/250 as well as some iems. If I were to have a budget <RM500, what is the best possible amp to bring the most out of my headphone?

Thanks.

You have to decide if you want a portable amp to go wih your DX50 or a desktop amp?

Since both of my headphones are full size headphone, I'd prefer a desktop amp with built in battery. However, it would be good if the amp is more portable. HAHA dilemma. can u suggest me for both portable and desktop amp?

You will need a really high current amp which hardly any battery powered amp within your budget will be able to provide.
