well for starters, can consider maybe a Fiio e9, enough juice for desktop low-end speakers i guess

can attach e7 or e17 and becomes like this


can use e9 and line out to use speaker's amp

you can try hippo cricri+

if you really insist on a sound card which we audio ppl seldom will use, the ASUS Xonar Essence series
if not, you can try a lot of extrenal usb dac+amp, which is said and majority proven to be a better option for pc

perhaps a hippo cricri+ but not sure bout the mac drivers thou

I don't mind adding sound card or dac or amp, as long as it improve the SQ.
Any recomendation for dac+Amp?

as a starter, can consider hippo dac+amps, they are good

word of caution, your mako already have an internal amp. Its not wise to add another amp to the output.

thanks for replying. dat E9 + E17 combo price is is the E9 currently available are E09K? cause I saw some pic don't have pre-out nor aux-in

my current setup is Asus Xonar DX output to Logitech X-540 5.1 as well as R1900TIII by splitting the front channel. is it wise to do so? I heard the signal would be degraded.

and.. I plan to acquire ATH-M50.. need advice on how should I setup them so that I can fully utilize them:

x-540 for movies and games (if can hook up R1900T3 along also not bad)
r1900t3 and m50 for music

at first I thought of skipping the DAC because I already have the xonar dx but I think that'll be a waste for M50.

OR use E09 to hook up both r1900t3 and m50

E9 is a DAC as well?

E9i or E9K?

E10 works well with M50 and R1900TIII?

Yes, you are right. After recheck the Mako guide, it stated clearly. It has build in amp.
I am more confuse now!!!
Then what should i do to further improve the SQ?

Best bet is to get a good DAC. Mako is not very good sounding to begin with. Its just cool looking Maybe you can look into some other more audiophile speakers

how much price is the e9 dac? also i did google about the soundstick 3, i read that the sound quality isn't worth the price of it, i'm not sure about this, need more input. are those listed suit for gaming as well? i will use them to listen music, movies, and gaming, not doing any multimedia stuff

No problem for gaming i think
Aego m for music purpose better IMO.

Yup, i know it is not an audiophile grade speakers. Bought coz it is a 2.1 (my room too small for 5.1), it is a gaming+a little audiophile speakers, and i got a very good deal offer.
Ok, DAC is the option i got.

Hi, I had a chance to try the Beats Mixr last Friday, I like it. I mainly listen to electronic dance music, EDM and occasionally some jazz and a little bit of RnB.
I liked how i can feel the bass. It's punchy, strong and makes my music come to life.
As all of you may have figured out, I don't really care that much for the trebles or soundstage of the headphone.

My question is, what other headphones would you recommend besides these Mixr's based on the preference I have given above (BASS). I don't want some clarity shit with no bass feel, just a pair of cans that would blow/rattle my heart out when I put them on --> BOOM BOOM BOOM.

Please don't recommend me the Sony XB1000. I don't have elephant ears.

Budget is 1k.

BASS --> Closed type --> Quite portable --> Clarity/soundstage/yadayadayada aka not important.
