i'm using razer orca n altec lansing vs2421.
i've found this in garage sales

USB DAC T-Muso PCM2704 [Elna Caps 330uF Caps]

is this will make music much more better than motherboard sound?

Hi guys, recently I've just bought this USB DAC to try it out.
I'm totally new to these audio things, but I wanna learn more about them.
I wanted to buy a entry level amp for the headphones I'm going to buy soon (probably superlux due to budget and also I'm just a beginner)
So I have 2 questions, which is:
1. which amp will perform decent enough for my budget (RM 200-300)
2. which superlux headphones is for casual users (music oriented)

Thanks!  notworthy.gif

the best if you can go down to jaben and test the amp and headphones yourself as music one thing i may like it you may not biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Hi guys.. I have a Superlux HD668B headphone. Currently just plug it to PC and listen to music.

Should i get either FIIO e6 amp or ESS SABRE ES9023 Audiophile USB DAC to improve the music experience?

Thanks..  biggrin.gif
*
you will need a amp to pair with the ess sabre get both the e6 and the sabre. the sabre is a good dac for that price there are even people say that it can be compare to a high end dac

I'm new to the audiophiles world.

After doing researches, I'm more or less understand how head-fi works.. like the basic ipod>dac>amp>phones combo..

but I'm still rather confused with PC audio setup.. what kind of setup I can have if I have a entry bookshelf speaker like r1900t3?

let me know I'm posting at wrong place.. but do we have a guide for starters?
*
i think the r1900t3 is a good enough speaker itself since it already has a build in amp inside it. maybe you can try get a good dac?

Yup, i know it is not an audiophile grade speakers. Bought coz it is a 2.1 (my room too small for 5.1), it is a gaming+a little audiophile speakers, and i got a very good deal offer.  biggrin.gif
Ok, DAC is the option i got.
Thanks for the recommendation. Any chance to try it before purchase?
*
if you want to listen to music maybe you can go for 2.0

Hi, i have an Edifier C3 speaker currently. I am planning to get a DAC or sound card to improve my musics experience.

Speaker: Edifier C3
Purpose: Musics, drama, movies (No gaming)
Surround: 5.1 or 7.1 NOT needed
Budget: Around RM 200

Well, wondering is there any recommendation that fits these criteria?

is this the UD100 that everyone recommends? http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2449848/+20?hl=ud100

Is it a good pair with AD300 or DT231?
*
you need to pair with an amp

*

so is the Apple internal amp any use ? i have read around that apple products usually have good quality sound outputs. so i guess double amping this would be ok. What do you think ? Else...have to wait for lightning compatible portable amps to come.
*
erm it depends on what headphone you are using. but because ipad mini is not a device that is use specially to play music i doubt they will put any powerful amp in it, in order to save battery consumption. but there are alot of sifu also said that apple internal amp is not good.

looking for a desktop dac with rca output bugget around rm500

if you're using 3.5" interconnect to connect between the walkman and dac/amp, surely it won't use the DAC function.
*
even using the line out also comfirm not using the DAC because the player got dac build in already you only by pass the internal amp

So if i plug a hippo cricri+ into my galaxy S3 i'm only using my phones DAC and not the cricri?

Also would a grado sr80i benefit from a amp hugely in honest opinion?
*
slightly yes, hugely no because the headphone are easy to drive after all

like at what point does amp makes a huge improvement but not a requirement?
*
errr i don quite get what you are trying to say. there are certain headphones that is like impossible to use withough an amp for exam those headphone with impedance above 300ohm in that case a amp make a huge improvement and is a requirement

Hi audiophiles of LYN,

I just bought my Superlux HD660 as entry level Headphones. I'm totally not an audiophile but I do wanna try things out and see if I'll enjoy my rock/heavy/metal music more. (Yeah I'm kinda poisoned. tongue.gif)

So since it's entry level stuff, I'm looking for something really cheap. I've decided to go for those USB DAC forumers are selling, specifically the T-muso ones. I was then suggested that I get an amp at least since my headphones are easier to drive with an amp. (I don't know my terms so correct me if I'm wrong.)

So my question is, can I use portable AMPs for Desktop? Because Desktop Amps no matter how I see it, are too expensive for me and I only look at things cheaper than my headphones (RM150). Something like Fiio E6 or anything you wanna suggest me. Can I use them for desktop? Or is there a need to?

I currently have nothing portable to bring my songs along and I do not have an IEM with me either, but I will get one soon so a portable one can also prepare me as a 2 birds with 1 stone thing.

Think you can suggest me something?

Thanks.
*
you can get an amp no problem and yes you can use a portable amps for desktops, as for the need of amp for your headphone that all depends on your ear
