Hey guys,

I have a question here, I recently bought a Edifier S330 Speakers and hook it up to my HP Dv4 Laptop, the prob is the SQ is not up to par, as in lacks in clarity. What are the recommendations to buy for an external DAC,AMP,SC that you guys recommend that will show the true speakers capability. I'm more to electro, house, trance, and movie guy. hope to get some good feedbacks. Thanks

Just wondering
i got a flexible budget around 200-300
which one do you guys think its worth getting?
im prefer portable if possible..
Hippo Box or E7?
is E7 DAC good? if its not then E11 should be fine to me
Or should i just go with the E10?

Wow! You are considering 3 very different product for different applications. What are your source/s hmm.gif

Sources varies
Just wondering if E7 DAC is enough
Cuz I'm 50 outside 50 inside kinda person
Which one is consider a long term investment so that I won't have to change amp anytime sooner
My sources are
PC or Blackberry
Music format:either FLAC or 320kbps mp3 files

fiio e10 > only usb inputs thus its only inside use,
fiio e7 could use it both inside plug in via usb use the dac and use it outside via the amp.
fiio e11 amp only thus both outside n inside,

outside(hp) inside(pc)

hope that helps and others sifu pls re correct me if im wrong icon_rolleyes.gif

stupid question here since i know you sell the E17's...

i was looking for a DAC/amp combo and have narrowed it down to the E17, CriCri+ and D2+.. but leaning heavily towards the E17 for it's loaded features

50/50 usage, PC as uDAC and Amp via my Sony Walkman via LOD... most of the time listening via UM3X... without comparing the other 2... what's your thoughts on the E17 sound?

i am looking to better the mids and make more forward sounding

thanks.. gotta wait for friend to get his one so i can test it out...

it is quite a bargain for a 5xx range portable DAC-amp combo...

You're more or less limited by your source - the clip zip. Also, what do you mean by better mids? Better comes in many forms and factors. You want it smoother, lusher, warmer, thicker etc etc?

maybe take some time to head to jaben showroom to have a listen on different sound characters, that place is like "the tuition center for audiophiles"

there is no wrong headphones if you are satisfied with it.. what you can do at this point is to find a suitable AMP with characteristics that suits what you are looking for...

since you already have both player and the headphones, it is better if you spend some time auditioning multiple amps to find one that suits your taste... if you go to jaben, remember to bring your entire setup there...

as i said, if you are satisfied with the performance of your cans based on what you can afford... then the next thing is to look into an amp that can change how your setup sounds... jus make sure you don't change your mind not long after you get your amp and get another set of cans or your investment have a possibility of going down the drain... not literally, but it might sound different from what you had paired with earlier...

the sansa models dun have the ability to bypass the DAC, so having a DAC / Amp combo might not seem fit for you to spend the extra... you can still get it to use it on your computer or future proofing your future player change..

that place is not the tuition center.. that place is the center for jump starting an addiction... very dangerous place to go to blink.gif

Have to agree with @hongrui, your current setup's performance is being limited by the Sansa nod.gif

Ssup mah man,

I'm quite new here, so without further ado, i shall begin with my request. I've been using Aego M for about 2 years and all these while i've connected it with my lappie and recently into my onboard mobo (Realtek). The genre music i hear often will be Electronic Dance Music type such as trance (heavily). Others like R&B, Jazz, Classical and Rock too, but just that i favor trance. Occasionally some gaming and movies too. Recently, i feel my need to hear better quality musics (provided the music files are good ones as well) has risen moderately and it is still growing. I may choose to resign to the quality the onboard mobo gives me but my ears, let just say they tend to stubbornly disagree with my complacency. It's about damn time, i step up my needs, quality wise biggrin.gif

Initially, I'm planning to purchase the Creative X-fi Titanium HD (RM 650-ish) and hook it up with my Aego-M but the thing is, i do not like to stuck with just one option or choice. I believe there is or are other available yet better options out there compare to the soundcard i mentioned above. Hence, i would love to hear opinions, experiences and recommendation from you guys. I'm hopeful with the budget permits, i can purchase something worthy under the price of rm 700.

hrt music streamer ii (external dac). Its bang for bucks and will cost you around rm550 only including shipping to Malaysia.. if you bought the dac from the amazon.

Can anyone teach me on how to setup the foobar2k with the dac that support 24/96 quality? In mac, if you just buy the good software, it'll do it all for you, no need to install driver, plug-ins and so on. Thanks!
