Ssup mah man,

I'm quite new here, so without further ado, i shall begin with my request. I've been using Aego M for about 2 years and all these while i've connected it with my lappie and recently into my onboard mobo (Realtek). The genre music i hear often will be Electronic Dance Music type such as trance (heavily). Others like R&B, Jazz, Classical and Rock too, but just that i favor trance. Occasionally some gaming and movies too. Recently, i feel my need to hear better quality musics (provided the music files are good ones as well) has risen moderately and it is still growing. I may choose to resign to the quality the onboard mobo gives me but my ears, let just say they tend to stubbornly disagree with my complacency. It's about damn time, i step up my needs, quality wise

Initially, I'm planning to purchase the Creative X-fi Titanium HD (RM 650-ish) and hook it up with my Aego-M but the thing is, i do not like to stuck with just one option or choice. I believe there is or are other available yet better options out there compare to the soundcard i mentioned above. Hence, i would love to hear opinions, experiences and recommendation from you guys. I'm hopeful with the budget permits, i can purchase something worthy under the price of rm 700.

Approaching a thousand if im not mistaken. I'm alright with the budget but am i worthy enough or whether my ears are trained enough, i highly doubt it. Hence, start from small then slowly work my way up. I guess that's the best way to grow in this type of hobby.

Btw, just a question. I understood the performance of DAC and amplifier in the music section where it is most certain that it will outperform soundcard anytime. What about its performance on movies, gaming and etc? If its the wrong question or wrong section to ask, feel free to 'warn' me. The reason why i want to ask as such because i want to value its overall performance as a whole.

Was thinking either Fiio E17, ESS Sabre (cheap and cheerful) or if possible Dragon Fly.

Often listening music through spotify.
