My favourite hooks are fire eagle hooks which added carbon, never had I ever snap any (prolly also because I never got bigger fish or my leader snaps first before the hook did)

Hehe, I don't pay too much attention to the rods. I always buy cheap cheap rods about RM50. To me any rods can use for any occasion.

Bah, I always dreamed of going to the sea to fish. But I don't have any friends or family members so sporting to go with me. The most they can is just to go pay ponds, that's why, Shoot@M3, I don't have the need to keep a jigging/popping rod yet.

Say, anyone has got any fishing trips to plan in the future in west Malaysia?

last year i rented a boat around 100bucks for 2 person around lumut area. targeted fishes are jenahak, siakap, mangrove jack and groupers. and guess what, the stupid boatman brought us to fish sha chim(whitings) niamah. dulan 9 me. but catch was so-so. got a few table size jenahak, <1kg. smile.gif
*
At least got some table sized jenahak, not bad wat. Sometimes you get some, sometimes you get none. Hope i'll have the chance to rent a boat n fish with others too.

Hehe, just talking abt sea fishing already made me excited. Just went TCE Tackles and bought a light jigging rod, soon i'll get a good sea reel to fit it in. Im going fish valley with my bro tmr morning, can try the rod with my banax fresh water reel to fight mekong catfish.

I think my virgin sea trip most prolly i join other pro anglers in a 3d2n trip. Though likewise i had no full sea equipments yet. The next thing im getting would be the multiplier and good quality braided line and some jigs.

RM 50 per hour?? That's so expensive, some more its a catch & release pond. That price i think u can fish in klang sealion vip pond with half the price n the fish to be brought back. Some more jackpot also.

A cutting from the magazine Rod & Line regarding a new fresh water pond with giant exotic fish.

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

sorry if the picture is too small or too blur. This is the pond ( I think ) that we were discussing, the RM50 per hour pond!
It's located in Natural Exotic Fish Fishing Pond, Lot 13, Batu 23, Jalan Batu Arang, Kg Sungai Bakau, Rawang

So if anyone going, please let us know how's the results ya? As for myself, I think it's too expensive

i started off with a daiwa rod RM68, banax reel RM120, ajiking line RM94 (200m). I could have bought a cheaper daiwa reel RM40, line RM50.

My banax reel and ajiking line now i think about it, it's really overkill for most occasion.

Guys i got a good question for u guys , as i recently got the reel but i got a problem is should i do the line myself or send to shop to do it ? planning on braided ^^
*
better let the shop staffs to do it for you. Theoretically, having a tight spool will have lesser problems of tangling. unless you have someone to help you (holding tight the lines with a piece of cloth when you reel in the spool), the tackle shops they will have a machine or some ways to fit your line tightly.

Added on September 4, 2011, 8:59 pmGuys, where in Klang valley has a tackle shop with good price on rods and reels? I plan to get a light/medium jigging outfit.

Thanks man, though i already guessed that kepong tackle will be the first answer to pop up. Seems that kepong tackle is still everyone's favourite

Bah, you have more experience than most of us. Even been through life and death for the sake of fishing. You should share your experience and stories with us here. Sailfish in rompin? or GT in Desaru?
