I think it's 8 megapixels right? Even if it has a 12mpx sensor, the effective pixels is only 8mpx cause official specs states 8mpx.

QUOTE(luckyhillkop @ Jul 4 2011, 05:42 PM) I feel like dumping my N8 for N9 but then Meego's future is uncertain? Wth is Elop playing at here. Some more he said nothing will change his mind on Meego even if N9 proved to be a success. I just don't get it. And may I ask what's the future Elop promised for Symbian? He has prepared a grave for Symbian.Maybe Meego is actually really really bad but Nokia managed to hide that fact so far in their N9 promo. That's the only logical reason I can think of. It's either that or Elop is truly a trojan. Which one is more likely? |

However no matter how good community support is, lack of proper software dev support is a big tradeoff for the mass market consumer.
I'm really hoping for a change in Nokia. Elop is really crazy. |

QUOTE(luckyhillkop @ Jul 6 2011, 03:22 PM) lol, it's so no k cause SGS II with good hardware is only 2099.Look at X7, everyone expected to be more expensive than probably even E7 but turns out Nokia Malaysia stated the RRP is only 1399. Hope the same happens to N9. |

QUOTE(nicholasbeh @ Jul 6 2011, 06:15 PM) E7 or X7 RRP cheap?DARN BLOODY EXPENSIVE!X10 1ghz,8mpix autofocus bla bla.only RM11xx X7 for music lover and the design is unique. Not hardware. personally feel only N8 n E6 worth that price for all symbian 3 phone.the others are crazy expensive price. The price for Nokia devices is not justified if you're comparing with devices priced similarly since most other devices are packed with better hardware. Not only that, Symbian has a glorious grave waiting for it. This post has been edited by hengguowei: Jul 6 2011, 08:27 PM |

Nokia Will Support MeeGo for N9 In The Future
![]() QUOTE Klas Strom, Nokia’s marketing manager for Nokia N9 has insisted on reassuring potential customers that the company will support MeeGo in the future. The Finnish company will continue to support the operating system in the years to come, and various apps will offer users a full multimedia and business experience, Strom tweeted. “We will support Nokia N9 for years and release SW updates, […] not to worry”, his tweet reads. Source Geekwithlaptop Apparently, Engadget has this since 6th July. Just to bring some fun to this thread. |

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Elop is definitely the mastermind behind this. Obviously he doesn't want N9 to shadow the WP7 devices releasing soon. For me, the only hold back for me not to buy N9 is the processor and the uncertainty of app availability. I'm speaking of true mainstream apps like the ones Android and iOS get, not community created. I know community created apps are capable and in fact there're some which are even way cooler than the apps in iOS and Android, like the awesome QtIrecco Added on July 17, 2011, 11:51 am » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Such as this? QUOTE(super_evil_alien @ Jul 26 2011, 06:14 PM) I don't know how much is the cost to produce N9 but even the SGS II with better hardware which one of the costliest phone to produce in market are being sold for RM2090. Elop doesn't want it to sell maybe? S II is awesome for its price. Very justified. Also N9's OS,well let's just say isn't everyone choice.... If Nokia do intent to sell N9 in high volume then they better sell N9 in slight low price.Around RM1.6K-RM1.7K is still ok. |

QUOTE(eaglehelang @ Jul 27 2011, 06:58 PM) I tried without conversion, not smooth, maybe same prob you encounter. Since I'm copying them from my PC anyway, convert to wmv or mkv 1st, then copy over, can play smoothly. E6 is play like 22 fps, the original files are 25 fps, so, prob if play RMVB or HD files in original format. Visual still as good as original after conversion, using free to download software. Converting isn't exactly slow these days especially if you're reducing it to such low resolution. Takes only minutes to finish conversion. I'm already appreciating very much the fact that N900 can play many types of video format, which greatly reduces my video conversion time since most movies downloaded are in AVI format if it's non-HD. I'm used to all this converting business, |
