It's highly unlikely that Nokia's WP sales will fail badly.It may not reach the numbers that Nokia & Microsoft expect but it should be decent.
Major question is what are the differences between Nokia's WP7 device & other OEM's WP7 device.
If Nokia expect people to buy it just because the phone have Nokia name on it,sorry this is not 2005 where Nokia was still bigshot on mobile player.

I already said that from my personal experience N9's OS looks & performs well.The lack developers problem can be managed if Nokia really put their weight on MeeGo.
But that's old news & Nokia have moved with WP7.So no point talking old news.
About WP7 (Mango) I feel internally it's a good OS but the UI is

Really? The phone is pretty much out of factories long time ago.Nokia employees from countries like Malaysia & Australia got their hands on retail set some time ago.

HTML5 for now is future standard.Means everyone hoping that it'll take over from adobe flash as video plugin etc2.
But this standard is yet to be adopted by everyone so flash support is still needed.

MeeGo Harmattan don't have flash support because Nokia is too cheap to pay for the flash license.Not because of the OS reason.

Nokia is not betting it's future with N9.So they are not spending too much resource on N9.
If they managed too all their current stock I think they will achieve their sales target.
I think N9 is pretty much a good device on it's own.If more developers shows some interest it could get a lot better.

Apple better prove this by comparing iPhone 4S with Nokia N8's pictures.

Overall whatever iPhone 4S can do SGS II can do it.
Only major thing which in my opinion really stands out is the voice recognition.
