climbing mt kinabaly isnt that difficult..u can take ur time on ur way up taking picutres...enjoy the coolness..being close to the nature.. and if u cannot carry ur luggage, u can appoint porters to carry for u..of coz at a price la

actually you can opt not to carry big backpack, just a small sling bag with tracksuit (for early morning climbing, its kinda cold in the morning), some power bars and water is enough and of course cash. You can buy food at laban rata, and do your dry cleaning if needed there.

Batu caves is the best!  biggrin.gif

How old are you?  (not need to be exact, 20s, 30s, 40s, etc)
Have you been regularly active in sports?
*
Yes Batu Caves.
I went there three times every week to 'train' before I climbed Mt KK. Back then I was 12 years old btw. laugh.gif
I also climbed Penang Hill for training once. Didn't really do anything else other than that.
And yes I made it to the peak.

other than leg muscle?
what happens if i have breathing difficulties...
any advice for KK?
*
Breathing difficulties quite hard to say I think. Some may be very fit but still encounter breathing problems. My parents have climb Mt KK at least 7 times. They haven't had any problems with breathing difficulties before. Can be quite cold though, be sure you are well prepared for the cold weather.

I've had family relatives who went up with my parents previously, some of them were already vomiting non-stop at the hotel at Laban Rata. So they couldn't continue the climb for the 2nd day.
As for me, I did feel a little nausea when I was near the peak but still made it up and down without much problems. smile.gif

Can climb, but will struggle. tongue.gif
Don't forget you will be carrying your backpack unless you hire a porter, but I suppose that depends on your goal for climbing.

I'm quite fit but still, I was limping for a week after the climb.
Hike often, that would prepare your body slightly for climbing uphill and downhill.
