Hello,
I've recently acquire Sean John, 'I'm king' cologne after trying several brands in the store. This is the 2nd time using. I can't feel the smell around me although spraying more than 2 time. I would like to know is it normal? Is there any other factor that causes the smell to deter? I checked the manufacturing date and is stated 12/2010. Could it be the date of manufacturing?

Please advices dear forumer. Thanks

Bought A*Men because I love the smell I got from the test strip. However, after wearing it for some time, i realized that it has a mossy smell > sweet smell on my skin.

Yeah.. i have been collecting my air miles and exhanging them for the vouchers only.. so far i have bought Dia and Memoir using the vouchers.

I have Reflection tester 50ml.. between this and Memoir, i prefer Memoir. On me, Memoir smells green and ashy/ smokey at the same time, definitely not the kind of fresh spring/ summer fragrance. I don't quite like how the top notes smell on me, but the ashy drydown is amazing! I think it will be real nice to wear this in a colder climate and when snuggling with your loved one, lol. It conjures an image of a mysterious and lonely traveller..

Reflection smells sweeter and peppery. Somehow its smell makes me feel "happy" as if i am anticipating a trip to somewhere.

Dia is a real classy one, if one day i am a boss of my own i will wear this everyday. Now i am just content on wearing Dia to interviews for good impression, lol.

I am also lucky enough to buy Amouage Homage attar at 300 bucks as the original owner decided to sell it and it was still almost a bottle full (12ml). Original price is 270 euro! The deal is enough to make me buy it blindly. The smell is heavenly sure (if you like roses and frankincense), but i couldn't think of any suitable occasions to wear this.. so once in a while i just put it on during the weekend when relaxing at home and enjoy the wonderful fragrance.

hi dav,
i find memoir man to be more of a powdery smoke with sandalwoodish scent, a close relation to tamdao by diptyque..
its really a nice scent to be snuggling with..longevity is way better than tam dao..

Actually Desire Red is VERY similar to Nikos Sculpture. What Sculpture has in extra is a frosty note from the benzoin so it is fresher. Fresh + sweet = winner.

Sample report. I have here 2 samples.

I was excited about the mint note but it was a letdown. I detect no mint and no pear leaf note. Instead this smell to me like Polo Blue. The first fragrance I ever bought. I find Polo Blue to be annoying boring and so is XY. Bad longlivety too. Pass.

I'm not too keen about sharp citrusy aquatics that seem to pierce the nose. But when i sampled this, what a huge surprise. Its sharp but never going overboard. It is very comfortably fresh but not in an aquatic way but in a green way. Tomato leaves ! I cannot imagine anyone can find this offensive. It projects well and it gives you a casual vibe. This goes to my wish list !

^ i guess...strong coffee note?

Lot's of review said the coffee is more refined in this one than Pure Coffee and have a lots of pepper but i didn't smell it yet though coz i'm wearing other scent today (SoTD: Nasomatto Pardon). Will test it out this evening or tomorrow..

EDIT:

Just a quick impressions. I just sprayed it on paper strip, for the first few second on the first spritz i got the resemblance to Pure Malt boozy cherry accord and Pure Havane honeyed accord. Then come the aromatic spicy (maybe from chili pepper). Not like MJ Bang (which is blast of pepper bomb). The hint of coffee is definitely there but i can't say much since it just on paper strip, it definitely work differently on skin :-).
