Met a sh*tty contractor, at first quotation came with great deal, then add on item came in unreasonably, once payment received then u will never get to reach him. Now my project is abandoned just like that. Knew him via LYN platform within this thread. That guy hardly post anything here, just reach his victim via PM. If u currently engaging with a contractor same way as i did please beware... Not sure whether I'm allowed to post his contact and photo here or not, but u may PM me for his detail if u need...

My current contractor so far the best I've deal with.. Price is reasonably low and come with relatively good workmanship. Most important is that he is not a calculative person, easy going person and will always try to accommodate with owner's request. He is based in Puchong and can be reach at 016-6014217 (Ah Hou).

Is good to share out the bad contractor.

For all new to renovation, contractor can be good for one reno and turn bad on another. While some conman/bad contractor uses fake id, buy "recommendation/posting" too.

Therefore is better to get 3 or more contractors to quote, and compare. Especially the project are big.

Just my 2 cents of advice.

Haha.. I am sure I do not know this guy thou.. Tiles and wiring he use all Chinese sifu and for wet work worker, mostly Indon. I compared 1-2 contractors before and his price is acceptable. Carpentery work he will get his affiliate to quote you directly, he will not get involved. He doesn't speak English nor write, so text him in Mandarin or call him directly better. Sometime it also depending on your gut feels whether can gel well with contractor as the renovation is a lengthy process. Happy Hunting mate.

Hi

I am a newbie !

Looking to paint the exterior of my double storey house plus the roof. size 22 x70

There is a quite bad crack on the kitchen extension which needs to fixed.
some have adviced to hack, put in mash wire and plaster it, others say no point for mash wire, just hack and plaster....my back kithchen is on slightly rised land...dono if the crack is due to earth movement or no piling done when its was done many yrs ago....the crack is aggrevated now that the side road is heavily used by vechiles.

The awning is quite old any suggestions has to the options avail ie paint / polycarbornate/ roof tiles....I am not sure which options to choose coz;
painting will not last and not sure hw it will look once painted
poly/ roof - cost wise do no if worthy coz planning to renov in few years (<3yrs)

As for painting the rood need advice whether to repaint or put new tiles ...cost wise are they the same. No problems with the roof just thinking in terms of taking care of the tiles and giving it a fresh look.

The house has not been painted for awhile so needs TLC.

All recommendations and suggestions welcomed. Also any good reliable contractors - workmanship, quality, cost reasonable, reliable. If they do ID design is good so i can engage them when i do reno later when i have the budget.

Grills, fascia board, gutter, ceiling all things extrior needs attended to.

Thank you all.

Hi,

I would like to recommend my contractor Mr.Aaron 010-2032888. He did a good job for me. Before Aaron I tried few contractor, the price is cheap but I'm headache to make every decision & the quality is not good. Through recommended by a friend, I get to known Aaron. Honestly the price is not as what we expected CHEAP but we still decide to engaged with him. After we engaged him, we have no regret on our decision. He helps us on design & the quality is much more better compared with previous contractor.

All my relatives saw my house design & renovation quality. They engaged him after me too. Everyone of us was happy with the design & the service from him because he will design for us, we just peace of mind during renovation period.

What we could said was if you are looking for QUALITY, for sure Mr.Aaron (010-203 2888) will be the one.

I engaged with this contractor Mr.Tan from Manleca Trading for few times and I am satisfied with it . The price is reasonable and most important he will give suggestions to us on renovating / repair to save cost at the same time quality is preserved . Likewise, he also introduce me on where should i buy the materials on a cheaper price. I introduced to my friends and LYN member as well and they are happy with it.

Here is the contact i would like to share if anyone need a reliable contractor.

I highly recommend my contractor, Unc Stephen. He's a retiree now and do renovation as a hobby. He's a civil Engineer and very good in terms of maximizing the space as you need someone who knows how to calculate when you touch the main structure/ beam of the house. He was a small developer and also built many of the toyota showroom and etc. He has renovated my bungalow house very well, very fast and able to recommend the cheapest supplier. i've recommended mny ppl and so far the feedback is positive. U can call him to have a chat 0162201966 and mention TC recommended him.
