Please beware when using this company for aircon, water plumbing, rooftop, electrical service: Perkhxdmatan Hup Yat

Handphone: Ah Lai 012-287644x
Evon 012-687204x
Office Tel: 03-4270 709x

I asked them to wash 1.5HP Inverter aircon. They said the RM160.00 price is all-in inclusive with gas (coolant), After they washed, they said already add 2 bar gas, need RM40 extra, so become RM200.

I was not happy with this, I called them, they said since when I promise to give you RM160 inclusive of gas? I said you told me this in telephone.

They didn't dismantle the aircon, they only wash the casing, and put chemical and splash the outdoor unit with water. less than 40 minutes in total.

I asked them why didn't you dismantle the aircon to wash? They said if always dismantle, the aircon is prone to malfunction. I told them many people outside also dismantle the aircon to wash. If only splash water like this, outside only collects RM100.00. He said I have my price standard. I told him this is not logic excuse.

The female boss said to me maybe you only use the aircon for first year, you dun have knowledge. I asked her, you see the aircon downstair, is it possible I only begin to use the aircon? or the first time I find people to wash aircon? She changed the topic.

The male boss said RM40 is small amount, I dun want to argue with you. I only collect you RM160 enough. I told him, this is not the money problem. This is related to whether it is logic or not.

You din dismantle the aircon, you refill 2 bars (This upstair aircon has only 1 year history) and then you charge me extra, before you said RM160 is all in unless the gas are almost all gone.

He said, dismantle the aircon to wash is antique method. He is using latest Singapore technology. In Malaysia rarely have people use. I said yaloh, rarely have people only splash the water and charge RM160.00.

I asked him, you only splash the water from outside is cleaner, or you dismantle it and splash it from everywhere is cleaner?

He said new technology is 100% same with dismantle method. Dismantle the aircon to do deep cleaning is sakai method. You dun know aircon. Many sakai outside also dun know aircon.

I said Yes, I dun know aircon, but I know market price.

He said he doesn't want to talk with me anymore. He said you pay RM160 and this is settled. I dun want to talk with you.

I said, boss, you cannot do business in this way. If like that, I wont give business to you anymore. He said you give me I also dun dare to accept lah. I have plenty of businesses to do. Very busy.
You only wash 1 aircon, not 100 aircons. This RM40 I give you.

Then the conversation ended.

This is typical bait and switch.

bait-and-switch
noun
the action (generally illegal) of advertising goods that are an apparent bargain, with the intention of substituting inferior or more expensive goods.
"a bait-and-switch scheme"

Hi, newbie here.
my parents wanted to renovate our house and found a contractor contact from a magazine (more like a pamphlet), his name is Wilson.

This Mr Wilson is based in Seremban and my house is in Serdang. He claimed that he had did quite a lot of construction and had a construction company.

My house was 22x70 sq ft. The renovation that we planned to make was
1. Extend both ground and 1st floor to the end
2. extend the front living room 5sqft forward
3. make some partition by building walls
4. repair the roof which was always leaking
5. change the floor tile with 2x2
6. painting and wiring

He promised us that it will be done within 6 months and until now he had just came for around 5 times.
1st time is when coming to make quotation,
2nd time is to clean the roof
3rd time is to continue cleaning the roof,
4th time is to clean the parking lot cement
and 5th time is to continue cleaning the cement.

He gave us alot of excuses that he got dfficulty in getting permission to proceed from the local authority, although he gave us a floor plan, but the plan is in wrong format.
When i asked him why is it takes so long time and what can i do, i ended up get scold from him and he even asked us to go to the MP to get approval. When we asked from the floorplan from him, he said it was his company's property and dont want to let us have it.

So no choice, he had wasted around half year basically doing nothing for us, so we had decided to go to MPSJ ourself. At that time we found out that the floorplan he did was in wrong format, and the officer incharge was very effecient. The following few days they already follow up and send an architect to draw a plan for us.
So the question is, is this contractor im hiring is a reliable one? He had FFK us most of the time, and asked for money a few times (about 50k from total 130k his estimation eventhough seems like no progress at all).

So a few opinion i need from all the sifu's here.
1. Do i need to wait for him to continue after got the plan and approval from MPSJ or i should hire another contractor/ ID instead?
2. Do anyone have any contact of contractor/ internal design based in Serdang/ Kajang/ Putrajaya with good reputation/labour/ efficiency with reasonable cost?
Thanks.
