Actually I've noticed this also, but from what I've known that the HP Driver for the AMD came with Intel Driver and Switchable graphic option, thats why they share the same version as this is a custom driver...

You can update both manually actually, I did update the Intel HD Graphics from Intel Drivers website and Catalyst 11.6 from AMD, of course starting to install from stock HP Drivers before upgrading...make sure you switch to the main graphic when installing the corresponding drivers (e.g. Installing AMD drivers then select AMD graphic card first, or Intel Drivers then selec Intel HD Graphics first).

I did have many issues for the first time when I installed and everything went screwed up as the Morphological Filtering in AMD drivers keep on enable even I've disabled it, and it affected all of my programs, then I reformatted it again and try again...Wala~ done everything is backed in normal...and the driver works according to the way I wanted...
*
wow this is great notworthy.gif

by using stock intel and amd driver, do you have any issues for software which needs OpenGL like photoshop as many other users are currently having problem to fully utilize the 6770 due to the new "dynamic" switching which limits the users and unable to fully utilize the GPUs.

HI Warlove3,

Great to hear that. Would you mind telling me what version of drivers you are using? I am trying to disable automatic switching on my 6114 as well. Thanks.
*
My best bet is 6001TX because those with 6114TX already have dynamic switching implemented and thus the manual switching is unavailable just like the CCC screenshot from Acid compare to other's 6114's CCC screenshot.

has anyone noticed that if we have a pen drive plugged into the 3.0 ports ( left hand side) windows startup gets stuck.
and help me to delay kaspersky at startup. i want to delay it like 1 minute after startup.
*
doh.gif i can't find any reference website or faq to show u but from my personal experience, never boot computer with USB storage devices like pendrive or external hard disk drive or even device like iPod/iPhone plugin to the USB port when booting. The PC/Laptop will tend to stuck on BIOS only.

wonders why.

I never sent my warranty card to Singapore.. should I?

You can uninstall:
- Energy Star Digital Logo
- HP Documentation

Other please avoid uninstalling. Personal opinion as this laptop has quite little bloatware. I might suggest uninstalling Norton and use other Antivirus solutions available. smile.gif

Acid can pin the assembly video to first post? smile.gif

I think might come handy for people later on who wish to:
- change thermal paste
- change blueray driver *i doubt*
- change hdd *very probably*
- remove dust from air duct.

*i noticed that the person in the video is very professionally train in handling the laptop and organised the screws very neatly following original order.. more important step is to that he ground himself to avoid ESD which i think is a very good practice in handling internal electrical component.*

How many running processes is considered average/optimum?
*
definitely no average in this as the usage of each user varies..is depends solely on user..
so people might run 20 chrome tab which has 20 different processes...

Can somebody help me with my laptop, please?

My problems:

1. Laptop boots on average about 2 minutes. I did this and followed the steps, but it stopped without doing anything after 2 boots. Didn't show any information after that.

2. Laptop often lags.

3. Mozilla Firefox takes about 2 to 3 seconds to load and will go into a "Not Responding" status right after loading for about 2 seconds before it is usable.

What should I do? I'm very frustrated.  icon_question.gif

sounds like a generic problem.. might consider reinstalling windows 7? cause i got that problem once with my desktop..

EDIT: After a few minutes, it is now running 76 processes.

EDIT 2: Now it's running 83 processes.
*

hi all owners dv6 6114.

something wrong with my laptop.
received it yesterday.
1st i try is wireless. it can detect network, but have limited access. no internet connection. hmm.gif

but my old acer lappy can detect the network with internet access. rclxub.gif

anyone have this problem b4? pls help me. Unless i have to use LAN cable to get internet. doh.gif
*
I think my gf just had that problem.. easy to slow.. here is the problem that you are seeing. Sometimes restarting the laptop + router can solve the problem but then the step that i usually do is :

1. goto Start => cmd => type "ipconfig /all" => search for your mac address.. usually is xx-xx-xx-xx-xx-xx.
2. goto 192.168.x.x (your router home page/admin page/whatever page u want to call it)
3. then goto setup your router to bind your laptop/desktop's mac address to a specific address in the dhcp range (example 192.168.1.2 till 192.168.1.100).
4. then u goto your laptop/desktop's adapter's setting and set the ipv4 address from automatically obtain to the chosen ip address from above (example 192.168.1.2) apply and close.
5. restart modem and laptop/desktop for results.

*All the typing is without the quote
*For ipv4 only
*This solution is effective for desktop > laptop if the laptop/desktop usually connect only to your own wifi internet because when laptop connects to other wifi connection, for example at old town or starbuck, they need to obtain ip address from the router's (not your router) so you need to enable automatic obtain address again which might be very tedious to keep changing the setting.

QUOTE(rurushu @ Jul 3 2011, 12:15 AM)
Agreed. That is the whole point of SB's integrated graphics is for... Only use dedicated GPU when duty calls, else the intel GPU will do fine.
Even though i am 6114tx user( my lappy not yet arrive though  sweat.gif )
*
Power saving? But i think using Intel 3000 is really cooling and the noise of the fan barely noticable.. but when load youtube, the 6770 kicks in to render smile.gif

i think you can do it once a week? 2 weeks? a month?

try not to do it too often as reading and writing to the hdd will wear off the hdd faster which decrease hdd's lifespan and create bad sectors.

just my 2 cent..

*i does it once every 2 week* brows.gif

never actually touched 90c; 88c the most but i think according to the video posted a few pages back, I think my laptop can push more juice while hitting the 90c ceiling as stated in the video. tongue.gif

*
i use U3 and reached 80 when watching 2 hours of youtube and video (High Performance)

i use U3 and reached 88 when 1 hours of HON (High Performance)

i use U3 and reached 65+ when watching 2 hours of youtube and video (HP Recommended)

i use U3 and reached 70+ when 1 hours of HON (HP Recommended)

i can see the from openhardwaremonitor that my processor speed and gpu speed is running at max all the time while in high performance and only moderate while using HR Recommended.

both setting have been running with U3 max speed + coolest setting + core parking 100%

*i left my dota at my hometown, going to try dota when back to hometown*
*drill will be added when i am with my laptop*

i think you can install Msi Afterburner / HWMonitor.. link at first page. If your 6770 kicks in, the monitor will pickup readings.

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

High Performance is the power option where most of your performance is set to max and brightness you can change for every power option; even HP Recommended / Power saving u also can set brightness to max..

but High Performance have more setting for the juices to flow. *Hidden from the users*

Acid,
do you remove the core parking while using windows? got any performance increase and increase in power consumption/heat?

Added on

You can also go to Start > type "Resource Monitor"

then go to the CPU tab to monitor your cores & threads performance from there. Parked core are inactive core to conserve energy..

Search for core parking to find out more.. or go to here to learn how to switch it off.
