The antenna is on TOP of house kind. And no channel can be found at all for Bolehland so it cannot be able to check the signal quality or strength.
*
Go to manual scan. Tune in to the frequency of your area. Wait for a few seconds and you will see the indication bar for signal strength and signal quality.

Does all current new model led / lcd Tv include digittal tuner / built in booster?
or only selected model with special features ...

I dont think my toshiba 32av700 have a digital tuner
*
Your Toshiba TV is an old model and of course it has only analog system. Most of the new TVs nowadays especially those reputable brands like Sony and Panasonic have built-in DVB-T2 tuner. However, you would be surprised that some new TVs from Hisense, Sharp and Philips currently being sold at dirt cheap price only give minimum specs without built-in DVB-T2 tuner.

What a joke! What's the purpose of this launch? No new channel, no real HD channel, station like Media Prima uses lowest bitrate to minimise bandwith charge....It's just like treating viewers like fools!

Before this I am using external aerial with booster to watch analog TV.

But now I cannot detect any Digital TV signal using the same aerial (with booster on and off)

But analog transmission working flawlessly.

My STB is ok because I manage to get the digital tv transmission in my dad's house.

So what should I do?

Should I get a new indoor aerial?

I live in Kulai. Gunung Pulai is around 10-15KM from my house. And I should get Singapore's digital channel too. But nothing show on my screen for digital tv.
*
Obviously it is antenna problem. I think you still need an outdoor antenna in order to receive Singaporen digital channels. You may try buying a cheap indoor antenna to test first. If an indoor antenna does not work, only then you may consider replacing your old outdoor antenna.

MYTV Advance provides additional features like additional paid content (in the future), compared to MYTV Basic, where it is just a simple digital TV receiver.
*
Don't think people will be willing to pay for MYTV additional crapy content in the future. It will fail and Astro will continue to prosper in Malaysia.

I manage to receive all the DTT channels from TV's auto tuning without any transmitter, I just plug in an aerial cable and leave it hanging behind my TV without connecting to any end point due to too far from wall aerial socket shocking.gif
Surprisingly the quality is good and smooth unless someone walk near to the end of the cable or touching the aerial cable metal, otherwise it will have no problem at all.
Another thing that annoys is only the 'SIARAN UJIAN DTT' watermark

no idea, we can get FM radio in TV also?
*
When did you perform channel scan and snap the pictures? Now the watermark has been changed to "Siaran Digital myFreeview" and some radio stations have been included. I guess you did the snapshot before 6th June.

Interesting, seem like media prima 8TV 'super low bitrate' seem to be improved to 'low bitrate' since this morning.
*
That's right. Now prime time TV dramas in 8TV, NTV7 and TV9 are reverted back to 16:9 and better resolution. It was really a miserable experience watching Media Prima channels since early last week till yesterday. However, I feel that its previous resolution (before testing "lowest bitrate") was slightly better than the current one.

But how can I access the radio channels in my TV? FYI, I am not using any decoder, just normal aerial cable.
*
You need to rescan channels.

hi everyone, sorry I'm new in this area. I would like to check with you guys, is it enough to get the reception if I bought this 2 item?

Decoder: http://www.lazada.com.my/gtop-hot-selling-...16343.html?ff=1
Antenna: http://www.lazada.com.my/w16yg-indoor-digi...80837.html?ff=1

extra info: I'm in Putra Height.

Thank you in advance smile.gif
*
The key consideration is that whether you stay in a landed home or apartment. Since Putra Height is quite far away, you may need an outdoor antenna if you stay in a low-rise house. Just buy a cheap indoor antenna from hypermarket or hardware store to test it out. If it is not workable than you need to install an outdoor antenna.

MYTV Broadcasting Sdn Bhd, the company spearheading the national digital terrestrial television (DTT) rollout, will waive fees for free-to-air (FTA) broadcasters until June next year as it revises its business model.

CEO Michael Chan confirms in an interview that FTA broadcasters will not be charged transmission fees until the analogue switch-off (ASO) in June 2018, which is when Malaysia will complete its DTT migration by terminating analogue transmission.

*
If that's the case, broadcasters should transmit their programmes in HD format.

15 SD & 15 HD channel to reveal soon. Maybe that Caya TV, TV1 HD & TV2 HD soon.. hmm.gif since Caya TV fb page already release. And some source say TV1 HD will start this or next year soon.. doh.gif

And this

They are so confident. But if no AXN HD or ONE HD like astro. For sure not worth to subscribe MYTV. But since MYTV & TM make deals. So, maybe Capital TV HD & Hypp Inspirasi HD will make their way into MYTV platform. So much talk but when it comes to June 2018 maybe no new things... doh.gif laugh.gif
*
Yes, that's one of the typical national projects. The long awaited official launch (which was delayed so many times) was such a big disappointment to viewers for not giving any new contents. We can sense that the deadline for analogue switch off by June 2018 could be delayed again and have little hope of getting improved channels by then.

Since we all need to get a digital box to receive TV broadcast very soon, do you guys think it's better to get njoi or mytv?

I think both of them receiving digital signal and maybe HD video format right?
*
Just take Njoi then. If you are not using TV with built-in DVB-T2 tuner, you need to buy a DVB-T2 set top box besides installing an outdoor antenna (if an indoor antenna does not work in your area). That would cost you some $$$. Don't put high expectation on Mytv. It's been so long since its first testing but the contents and picture quality have never been improved so far. So much talks and promises but the progress is at snail pace. Give it the thumbs down.

I did notice that since early this week Media Prima is AGAIN testing lower bitrate. Resolution becomes lower and aspect ratio is wrongly done.

It looks like Media Prima is still doing trial and error testing different bitrate and aspect ratio although MyFreeview has been officially launched. Just look the image of Korean drama in 8TV at this moment, its resolution is better than last week, the logo of 8TV has normal dimension and the size of subtitles is correctly altered.

It does make one wonder......what the hell Media Prima had been doing during actual 'trial' from year 2014 onwards......... doh.gif
*
Our impression is that Media Prima in the first place has never supported digital TV as long as the infrastructure fee has not been finalised by MYTV and negotiated.

Yesterday we just talked about 8TV logo correctly displayed. Today at same timing its logo has gone back to big size and widely stretched. Really don't know what the heck Media Prima is doing.

What the hell?
Whatever happened to 8TV drama audio?
Picture quality somehow acceptable, but audio quality appears to sound like super low bitrate stereo now?  bangwall.gif

Duh, people complain about low video bitrate/quality and now media prima decides to screw audio bitrate instead?  doh.gif
*
Obviously Media Prima is still testing different bitrates. Sometimes we can easily notice lower res images, wrong aspect ratio and sudden loss of sound for the same TV program as compared with a day before. Some TV programs still show the annoying low pixels.

To enjoy digital TV:

1) If your TV is around 2013 or newer, usually your TV should have built-in DVB-T2 tuner. Try check your TV's Installation Settings and see if you see any setting option for receiving DVB-T2. Or better, refer to your TV user manual.
*
Just to add. If you purchased premium brands like Sony and Panasonic, it is yes, their TVs manufactured after 2013 have built-in DVB-T2. However this is not always the case for brands like Hisense, Sharp and Philips that always sell dirt cheap TVs with minimum specs, where some of their low-end TVs in the market are still shamefully not equipped with built-in DVB-T2.

Just a bit curious, are these so-called low end manufacturers dumped these units without DVB-T2 from country like Singapore or Thailand (with DVB-T2 implemented) to Malaysia (yet to implement DVB-T2 officially) to clear their stock ?

QUOTE(nexona88 @ Jul 7 2017, 09:06 AM)
Well I also have the same feeling..
Malaysia become dumping ground for those TV shakehead.gif
*
Many Malaysian buyers are very price sensitive and not willing to pay higher price. That's why we still can see some lower end 32" TVs with minumum specs are quite well received in current market, like providing only one HDMI and USB port each and without built-in DVB-T2. By comparison, a new 32" Sony TV is priced at around RM1000, while a new 32" Hisense is around RM600 only.

Hi all. My Sharp TV got dvb-t2 decoder and I have both powered and non-powered antenna but I'm unable to get any of these stations under 666mhz and other mentioned frequency. Tried both manual and auto search. Nothing. I stay in Denai Alam, Shah Alam. Am I missing something?
*
Obviously you need an outdoor antenna.
