QUOTE(shaun_kok @ Apr 13 2019, 01:30 AM) Agreed with that. Really should had done few days before. Noticed that it is using different LCN numbers for both services (Ch 201/202). A stop gap measure when MYTV are resolving the issues. Hope MYTV won’t forever take their own sweet time to improve stability of multiplexes. Instead, they should immediately fix the signal problem in MUX 2 so that everyone can receive RTM HD channels and there is no need to have redundant TV1 SD and TV2 SD in MUX 1. By doing so, some space in MUX 1 is freed up to make way for future HD channels. QUOTE(yongtjunkit @ Apr 13 2019, 09:01 AM) So means the radio channel would be back as well? I don’t think so, as RTM TV and radio channels have already been allocated in MUX 2. In fact, putting back TV1 SD and TV2 SD in MUX 1 is only a temporary fix.

QUOTE(shaun_kok @ Apr 15 2019, 09:50 AM) 2X CJ WOW SHOP with exact same name and same EPG without mentioning the language type and what product is selling (the contents/language are of course different), the only thing is different LCN. Quite confusing somehow. This is a sad story of FTA channels in Malaysia. Media Prima is struggling in business. Most airtime of NTV7 and TV9 have already been allocated for CJ Wow Shop. Besides that we can also see CJ Wow Shop occupies some slots in 8TV and TV3 too. And now, another 2 more additional rubbish channels are purely dedicated for CJ Wow Shop again! QUOTE(Qash-M @ Apr 15 2019, 11:26 AM) By MYTV response, they only responsible for SD channels only while myFreeview on HD one. It looks like bitrate for HD channels will be settled at maximum 4 Mbps even after ASO. MYTV reduces broadcasting fee for HD channels, thus allocating low bitrates for HD channels.

QUOTE(dayojah @ Apr 15 2019, 12:33 PM) How does this compare with Astro "HD"? HD channels in Astro have better image quality than HD channels in MYTV platform. Besides that, audio in Astro HD channels is exactly Dolby Digital 5.1 surround quality, while audio quality in MYTV channels is really poor if you have a 5.1 home theater setup. I am not sure about the current bitrate in Astro HD channels. Someone posted the information before. This post has been edited by truelife: Apr 15 2019, 01:06 PM

QUOTE(stormaker @ Apr 22 2019, 07:29 AM) Can recommend an indoor antenna to receive the digital signal ? According to google map, distance from the station to my house is 34km. The distance consider near or far ? Can use indoor antenna ? Thanks ! Since your area is quite a distance from the nearest transmitter, don't need to waste time and money buying an indoor antenna unless your stay in a very high rise building that has a clear line of sight to the transmitter. What you need is an outdoor antenna.

QUOTE(toytoy @ May 28 2019, 10:11 PM) Hi all. I am staying near Menjalara. Using a Samsung TV 2018 with DVB-T2 decoder built in. Just bought the antenna below but can't get any channels after using auto or manual tuning. Is it because this is too cheap? I would like to avoid installing antenna on the roof. Any suggestions? Thx If you stay on a high floor of condo or apartment in Menjalara area, you should be able to receive all channels in MUX 1 (but to receive signal of MUX 2 in Klang Valley you need some luck) by using the antenna shown in your picture. However, if you stay in a landed property, you will need an outdoor antenna. Indoor antenna does not work for landed property, unless the location is very near the transmitter.

QUOTE(wild_card_my @ Jun 7 2019, 01:58 AM) Thanks. Found my parents' house is 15km away from the KL tower. I think I will try the indoor antenna first, if that fails, Ill just get something better. Found a whole set for RM117 on lazada. many good reviews for that seller and particular product too. 15km from KL Tower. Indoor antenna works if you stay in a highrise building. However if you stay in a landed home, outdoor antenna is the choice.

QUOTE(work_tgr @ Jun 14 2019, 10:48 AM) Are there any our neighbor countries which provide 4k digital TV broadcast so that I could estimate when should I upgrade my 1080p TV to 4k. Don't expect much for FTA channels. Even Singapore is still stuck in 1080i, not yet 1080p. Malaysia FTA channels, on the other hand, are struggling in SD format mostly.

QUOTE(birain @ Jun 30 2019, 03:06 PM) late 2018, to early 2019 only, Malaysia starting to get dvb-t2 led tv's with built-in decoders. never heard plasma tv got decoders built-in, if got also is an older tech. QUOTE(AV_2018 @ Jun 30 2019, 06:06 PM) Sony TVs have DVB-T2 since around 2015. Sony was the first manufacturer to feature DVB-T2 in its KDL TV series since early 2013, which I still own one of them with excellent condition. Before 2013, Sony KDL TV series were still DVB-T, not DVB-T2 yet. This post has been edited by truelife: Jul 1 2019, 02:12 PM

QUOTE(syncomp @ Jul 4 2019, 06:20 PM) Thank you... Thats make sense. I've check the tower location and compare with google Map. Got two towers for my kampung. Both located 100 km far away from my location I recall that someone staying in northern Johor - Segamat which is 200km from Singapore, is able to receive Singapore digital TV channels. QUOTE(JohnLai @ Jul 4 2019, 07:12 PM) Phew....and I thought my decoder has compatibility issue......I wonder why RTM shows the "press subtitles button etc" if it isn't working in first place. No problem for my Sony TV with built-in DVB-T2. Subtitle is always shown in RTM HD and SD channels.

QUOTE(shaun_kok @ Jul 11 2019, 09:35 PM) Rushed switchover without ANY MAJOR AWARENESS announcement. This is the same with TV Alhijrah, which only announced the switch off within the news and also some FB/Instagram post, which hardly reaches anybody. Viewers only realised analogue switch off had been done after when there is no signal for a prolonged period and found out the social media post!!! MYTV should at least do someting like Mediacorp Singapore, putting a small announcement box on all analogue channels continuously 3 months before ASO date.

QUOTE(joshhd @ Jul 12 2019, 12:56 AM) Anyway, is there many viewers out there still watches analogue TV? I guess especially those rural elderly people are still on it. Don’t be surprised, some urban people are still not aware of FTA digital TV channels. I saw some hawker stalls and warong within KL area still relying on TV3 analogue channel. QUOTE(biggie @ Aug 12 2019, 04:19 PM) Landed house, and Subang bestari lowland too. Don't know how to check on cable fault. I think I put everything tight enough. Most probably need to get the ugly antenna? Subang Bestari. Outdoor antenna is your only solution. Don't waste time trying all sort of indoor antennas because your place is: 1) quite far away from the transmitter 2) landed house

QUOTE(dayojah @ Aug 13 2019, 11:27 PM) Subang Bestari is not that far from the transmitters. You should have reception if you have reasonably clear path to one of the three Klang Valley transmitters, most likely Genting or Sg Besi as Menara KL is a bit too boxed in these days You can get signal in Subang Bestari only if you stay in a high-rise building (indoor antenna) or using outdoor antenna for landed homes (low-rise buildings). Even landed homes in nearer areas like USJ and Puchong must install outdoor antenna to receive MYTV signal. I have tried a few different 2-storey houses in this area, and only outdoor antenna works. Indoor antenna can work in high-rise buildings for this location because of better chance of clear of sight.

QUOTE(culain99 @ Sep 5 2019, 09:38 AM) IDTV built in, using indoor rabbit ear antenna (no amplifier). ordered the flat stick to window dtv antenna (with amplifier) not arrive yet... any seremban town people around ? Bukit Sungai Besi tower 45km north, Bukit tampin tower 41km south Apartment or landed? If it is a landed property located more than 40km from the transmitter, you need an outdoor antenna.
