In Thailand, their DVB-T2 deployment was completed before the Internet speed and price surpassed "minimum" requirement for online streaming.
In Malaysia, aside from price, the current speed surpassed "minimum" threshold before DVB-T2 is ready to be deployed.   The audience market already moved on to next platform before our digital terrestrial broadcast grabs any market share.

The 2nd mux is active, but there is no data transmission. 2nd mux is supposed to have RTM HD channels.

If go to Limbang area, there is RTM HD channels, but no media prima channels.

Buyers should check properly on what frequencies that the particular device may emit before buying. If the digital TV box used is not certified ones, although it is cheaper, but it does carry the possibility of interfering other, telecommunication equipment or signals that is irrelevant from the equipment.
But then yes, I do think that most of the time the uncertified devices won't interfere other nearby devices, but that doesn't mean confirm 100% will not, especially cheap, cap ayam, poor quality, clone/counterfeit product. 

That is the risk that you should aware and acknowledge, when you buy devices that are not certified by MCMC (devices that does not have MCMC sticker on it).

For the first time ever in Malaysian history, I see MCMC confiscates a UHF TV antenna.

The only the thing I don't understand is, how does UHF TV antenna can affect others till the point it causes interference to others???
I urge MCMC to release a statement and explain what does the owner use that particular UHF TV antenna for.
Because UHF TV antenna doesn't "transmit". They receive signal, not transmit. It doesn't make sense.

Yes, it may be a UHF TV antenna, where typically people use it to watch TV. But it seems to me that the owner might be using a UHF TV antenna for something else, like transmit something else for own purposes. And what does that owner use that antenna for, is something that MCMC should let the public know, in my opinion. I hope Gobind sees my post here. 

It doesn't matter if the channels is free or not, MYTV can encrypt their channels to force ALL viewers to use their own MYTV STBs to watch it, regardless whether your TV supports built-in DVB-T2 or not.

If MYTV really want to gain revenue from the sales of their STBs, they can force every viewers to do that. They have the power to do so, but whether if the government or MCMC would allow them to do so, that's another matter. After all, MYTV Broadcasting is privately funded company.

DAB's basically stuck and have not progressed outside Klang Valley since 2009. Doubt it ever will - in the region Singapore actually shut down their DAB in favour of internet radio, while retaining analog (FM).

Considering DAB+ ended up in failure for Hong Kong and Singapore.......the prospect of Malaysia migrating to DAB+ at lower frequency band kinda depressing....

Is MyTV really going to keep transmitting K band satellite? I presume that they are using C band to the East Malaysia transmitters for rain fade reliability, so a couple of K band transponders as well gets expensive.

Went through Lojing today, a lot of the orang asli homes are receiving MYTV via satellite - this area is a VHF/UHF blindspot so no wonder there

Are there any our neighbor countries which provide 4k digital TV broadcast so that I could estimate when should I upgrade my 1080p TV to 4k.

From what I see, MCMC seems to focus more on Android boxes than non-Malaysian satellite TVs boxes.
Now, MCMC uses the law of an non certified equipment to crackdown those users.

At least it is better than those days, where some silly ministers says the reason why parabolic satellite dishes is banned because of pornography and the content are not censored. Cheh, as if services like Astro is so damn halal like that... Nonsense excuses.
