No surprise at all. This also includes Astro and NJOI too in addition of streaming sites like Netflix, iflix. Even Media Prima (main FTA player) has settled down on Home shopping and their free online offering Tonton + Rev Asia, which both of them stopped the revenue loss of the company partially caused by late migration of DTT.
If the government had made the DTT project successful back then earlier (on DVB-T), Astro won't have such a huge household penetration and they somehow has to make some of their channels (non premium) available on DTT and Media Prima won't have 2 of their existing channels airing mainly rubbish shopping programmes (but this is nothing consider the problems faced by MYTV)
Also, the government (both BN=2x5 and PH=5x2) seems to rush digital switchover without having massive education regarding the digital switchover. No surprise if the date is delayed.
Fully agreed.
In recent MYTV on satellite platform, some user calling their customer service and their cs staff have no idea about available on satellite platform. According to some website, a number of MYTV dish and stb (distributed free to those who qualified) have been installed but cs said no such things. Very curious the coordination among relevant department within MYTV, kelam kabut and no systematic AT ALL. Such an embarrassing answer given. What's the HOD doing in office.
AND also, many years ago, some countries have setup rules that TV set with DVB-T2 tuner can only sold but in bolehland, govt doesn't care about this and LED TV with only analog tuner could be found in electrical shop. This will make manufacture took all analog tuner TV set from neibouring countries and dump here selling at market price. This analog LED TV without DVB-T2 should go to recycle bin !
PH or BN, 2x5 5x2. Talk big but no action. Astro still carry on with his taiko big brother attitude).
I know that Malaysian are hunger to watch a quality TV broadcast at least in SD if not in HD.
As I am living in northern bordering with Thailand, 90% of local resident watching Thai DVB-T2 channel, if Chinese, Korean, Western TV series or sport event on air, the will definitely in the choice of DUAL AUDIO in stereo apart from Thai language as default. Who want to watch RTM, Media Prima rubbish channels ?
Generally, FTTH home broadband packages in BOLEHLAND is also more expensive and slow than neighbouring countries.
Really BOLEH or acting to be BOLEH, good to have a thought.
Really make me vomit to see Tun M keen on Proton 2.0
If you can't make a marketable car globally (Malaysian have no choice to choose Proton or Perodua, poor public transport , high import tax and excise duty) in nearly 35 years, don't dream to re-establish another national car.
