Saw the very same antenna in Haadyai. Heard gain was high, good quality visuals. Regret not getting it when I was there a month ago

Eh, so are we on DVB-T or DVB-T2 ?
since some recent posts here are saying DVB-T a well as DVB-T2  ? (gives hope to my LG LA7400 which comes with DVB-T).
*
RTM has been using DVB-T for its own trial since 2006. MyTV, which is going to bw huilding, operating and maintaining the Malaysian digital TV infra, will be using DVB-T2. For now DVB-T is limited to Klang Valley and it is not certain it will continue once MyTV conpletes its nationwide expansion

how's your scanning in southern Thailand ?
*
Nope, still no luck. Am trying again today. Been in touch with the manufacturer of the TV stick, we've ruled out faulty stick for the time being as it works fine in KL with DVB-T.

What are channels broadcasting in high definition right now?
*
Tv3Hbb, but they play a looping clip rather than the actual real time broadcast

Went to Songkhla and my USB stick got a couple of channels. Tried the found channels in Padang Besar, very poorly if at all received. I think it may have been a poor signal issue. I'm relieved it's not a faulty USB stick.

I bought another STB by Samart (Strong Black), tried to do a scan using my hotel tv (Padang Besar) and a newly bought active antenna also - not much luck. No channels caught, though interestingly I noticed it stopped for a bit longer while scanning, at the frequencies you listed.

Main transmitter in Southern Thailand located at Songkhla (near Kuan Yin statue) on the top of hill. Padang Besar is located some distances away. Did you go to have a look at shop selling TV device or coffee shop and ask locals about the experience of DVB-T2 reception. Majority able to speak Hokkien, Teochew and Malay.

It stops a while and if the signal too weak, no info or data is received, thus it can't list down the channel name(s). Same as scanning satellite TV channel thru weak transponder received by dish.

The next phase also the final phase of DVB-T2 transmitters to be erected at deep southern Thailand: Pattani and Satun. Satun is very closed to Padang Besar and may benefit to the Malaysia - Thai border : Padang Besar viewers.
*
Great to know! Any idea when the Tx in Satun will be deployed? Out of interest, what kind of antenna do you use to receive Thai DTT in Changlun?

i guess so. But I saw early posts, someone mentioned about hacking the tuner to get signals. As for decoder, there got western and asian, so I guess western decoder couldn't use here.
*
No such thing as Western and Asian. Basically if they use DVB-T2 we should be able to receive local signals using the same decoder here. The "hacking" you read earlier is all about enabling the built-in tuner of the TV, for which most are shipped disabled.

what i know this "mytv" is got 2 type tv, free and paid tv. of course paid tv is more good tv channel can watch, so you don't expect too much for free tv , "mytv" target is for "paid tv" just like unifi tv.
*
Not many country that I know of are using paid DVB-T2 on their population ( I recall only one) if I am not mistaken. That may be possible here but I hope they don't resort to it, seeing other Asean countries are basically featuring wholly FTA.

Get from Thailand. Many choices, cheap too - starting from THB690 (under RM100). Even small town 7Es sell them. I got mine from the Thai side of Padang Besar.

IC.  I wonder DVD-T (not T2) can use in Malaysia or not?  Cause I have both T2 and T, and haven't get the chance to test.
*
If you are around KL and Southern Klang Valley I believe you can get RTM's trial DVB-T. DVB-T2 won't come until MYTV arrives here.

Talking about prices I believe that if mytv is selling their set at RM200 then it will be cheaper than the one sold at lazada.. I know that some are selling up to RM400
do take note that the mytv set has hbbtv capabilities. Those in Thailand selling for cheap
*
The basic Thai ones for sure doesn't have HBBTV capability, but as far as I'm concerned it's not a priority for me. I just want to watch FTA TV 😉

Im moving to klang valley next week. So this digital tv already stable for everyday watch? What channel do we got? Do we need special outdoor antenna to use with the dvb box?
*
RTM only (4 TV channels + 7 radio, plus TV1 and TV3 clip looping HbbTV) from RTM's own DVB-T trial. MYTV's DVB-T2 not here yet. A normal UHF antenna will do.

Hi. You all using DVB T3 box or using TV with pre installed DVB t2 receiver?
Is it possible if using tv with preinstall decoder to watch these channel?
*
DVB-T2 STB. If the TV manufacturer says it has DVB-T2 tuner built in then it should be able to receive the broadcast.

My Panasonic TV had DVB T2 built in. I have UHF indoor antenna at home. How do I set it up? Or actually how I know where is the coverage? PJ got coverage?
*
Start scanning. If you don't get any channels you may need to reposition your atenna or use an outdoor one.

Any particular position I need to face the antenna to?
I have the old timer UHF antenna for analog tv.
Do I need something like this for MYTV?

Try and scan with what you have first.
