I think it depends on the agent. sweat.gif
According to my agent he charge around different only by a few hundred dollars depending on extent of the renovation (e,g. extend front, back, 1 st floor ).
Different type oh house (intermediate/corner/bungalow) he charge different price range. yawn.gif
It seems that it is easier to apply in Selangor compared to KL. thumbup.gif

The Alam Flora's tong charges are very much more expensive as compared to those that you get from outside suppliers. However, there is a requirement that you need to use at least ONE tong from Alam Flora. sad.gif
Does not matter if you use their small or big tong. Just have to use at least one.

The good thing is that the balance of the deposit will be refunded if not use. biggrin.gif

Hahaha. Don't need agent to do all these.. Of course your agent will say troublesome as it would be additional work for them.

After you reno work completion, just go to the Alam Flora counter at MPSJ as fill in the form. Submit and wait for them to post you the refund cheque. Takes a month or two for the refund.

When they collect deposit, then want immediate payment BUT when they are to refund, have to wait. mad.gif

Initial walkabout research

During the 2 weeks while I was waiting for my MPSJ permit approval,
I've spent some time looking into, available supplier for
1. Windows (Glass and Aluminum)
2. Plaster Ceiling
3. Window Grille.

Being a total novice, I decided to do it this way....

a) Look at Lowyat Forum. tongue.gif

b) Look in to Superpages and zero down to available supplier in Puchong (chose Puchong because it seems that there is many suppliers and its near my place)

c) write(scrawl) down the address on a piece of paper

d)ascertain the location via google map and print out a copy then pin point the area

e) drive around and visit them.

I'll share my findings with you all later.

Few points I've noticed. Usually only the boss can give you a quote.
Usually they will only be around their office in before lunch. After lunch, out on their jobs.
Every new visit you will learn something new.
The more technical things you know, the more things you will consider, the more headache you will have. rclxub.gif

I may not go for the cheapest but just want to make sure that,
i) I feel comfortable with they guy I choose
ii) I avoid getting slaughtered, I don't mind paying not the cheapest.
iii) I know where they are ..... (if they con me... you will all know)
iv) I at least know something before making a decision, not just blindly choose.

I did not visit all on the list but around 70%. Some moved or closed shop. Either that or I just can't meet the boss.

After these exercise, I surrender liao. rclxub.gif

Need to take a breather.. sweat.gif
